I'm guessing, but maybe the way it's supposed to work is you take 3 friends. 2 enter the 3rd's private giveaway, and mark it as received. The 3rd friend doesn't have to actually give anything away, since his 2 friends got RO2 free today, and so he increases his CV.

They want to enter CV giveaways without spending a cent.

He's saying that the giveaway creator didn't give the game to the winner. He's saying that instead the winner activated the game on their account in the free offer on Steam and marked the game as received so that the giveaway creator would get some CV. He's saying the giveaway creator and winner planned it together with a third person who was also willing to mark as received should they have won instead. He has no evidence that this happened but it's feasible.

That's a lot of effort to get CV for an already bundled game.

I won't disagree with you there.

Yes, it is, but not all ideas that are acted upon are intelligent.

That's right but the creator before the giveaway had 5$ contr point and now after making 2 X red orchestra 2 giveaway he has 25$

It'll get removed when Red Orchestra gets listed as a non-CV game. Happened to me with another game. Gave it away from a bundle and when they registered the bundle it got removed.

it wont because bundle game will give you 30$ contr point

There is no such thing as a non-CV game. Only games on the bundle/exploited list that can only get you up to $30 in CV. The rest is accounted for 20% of your non-bundle contributions.

The value got removed from your CV because you had already maxed out on bundle contribution. But if you keep giving non-bundle games, then you're going to get 120% of the giveaways value until you get all the CV back from your bundle games.

It's not going to be listed as bundle until it really appears in a bundle or it gives you keys/gifts to give away. L4D2 is not listed as bundled either and was free like this.

Does this thread count as calling out btw? (I think it might)

Anyway, if SG wanted to investigate I guess they could always ask the creator to provide proof. A screenshot of trade/gift history, a receipt for a key or even the used key itself will say product already owned and what game it is if tried on an account that owns it.

They could get the winner to send a pic of their Steam account history too. My copy of the game says "retail" (I got a key in a Indie Gala bundle), did activating the game during this offer say something else? "Complimentary" maybe?

I know he can easily be found based on what you posted. That's why I was worried on your behalf. :p

If everybody can easily find the guy then whilst it's not directly naming them it's not very subtle either. I'm not trying to get you in trouble or anything like that, I'm just concerned for you that SG might see it that way.

Seems two of the three love to use only free games. Well, there is always the blacklist.

One of them also has a win for L4D2 that seems to have occurred right around the time when the game was free.
