I have Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor and Company of Heroes 2 - Beta Stress Test and now I also have the (New Steam Version). I didn't even have the original one :P

Does the Company of Heroes (New Steam Version) include the Tales of Valor and Opposing Fronts expansions? Or is it just the base game?

Seeing I didn't own the base game, but do have Tales of Valor and just got this added into my library, I think it includes this at least. I haven't downloaded it yet though, so I am not able to confirm this for you at the moment.

It shows them as DLC so I would assume so.

So, should I uninstall my existing COH, Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor?

EDIT: I tried copying the files from my existing COH folder into the new one, it doesn't work. You still need to download the full 7.5 GB new COH.

Instructions for transferring your game to the Steamworks servers are below:

  1. Download and install Steam which is located here - http://store.steampowered.com/
  2. Launch Steam and create Steam account (if you do not have one)
  3. Sign into Steam account
  4. Select “Activate a Product On Steam” from the “Games” menu
  5. Enter your Company of Heroes CD-Key in the resulting menu
  6. Repeat for the Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor expansion packs
  7. If you do not have your original Company of Heroes CD-Key we will be releasing a tool that will allow you to retrieve that from your account later in April.

Once you have completed these steps you’ll see “Company of Heroes (New Steam Version)” appear in your Library. You can download this and begin to play.

After the Steam update today I got this new version. I installed it, but for some reason I can't play the Normandy campaign, it says I must purchase the original CoH to play it (I already added my CoH retail key to Steam ages ago). But it allows me to play the second campaign, which, AFAK, is also part of the original game (edit: now I checked, ToV has 3 campaings, so the original game has only 1, the Normandy one).

FYI, I have the original CoH retail, and both expansions from Steam.

Anyone else having the same problem?

might be result of that in fact that they give out all ppl who doesn't even have the original Company of Heroes but only Tales of Valor or Opposing Front.. i think u can still play the normandy with the original CoH...

If you can, I think you have to use your key and activate this version with it.

I already have CoH from steam store, which I bougth because I couldn't activate my gamersgate key on steam. Does this mean I can now activate it on another steam account?

1 decade ago

You mean the GG key? I heard every CoH key is now Steam redeemable, so you should be able to activate it.

Not hard at all, the question is, what for? I see no use in achievements.

Waste of time imho.

IMO achievements are a good thing. Always gets me back to playing the game again, just to get that out of reach relic, or complete the level a little quicker .. just wish steam make the ach unlock sound xbox has

Over Christmas, Amazon was selling the THQ Mega Pack which included a copy of Company of Heroes GOTY which wasn't redeemable on steam. It sounds like you could now take that non-steam product key and activate it on steam to get the CoH (New Steam version). Can anyone confirm this or have I completely misunderstood this clicky? I already had CoH and got the new version so I can't check it for myself (so I'm not just lazy).

Yes, you can. I actually gave mine away on here, after trying it to see if it would come up as product owned. When it did, I knew it was Steam. The guy that won it had no problem activating it.

who says u can't confirm it if u already own it? xD just like he said try putting the code in the activate CD key
if it says Product already owned pretty sure it works :)

I just had that same revelation myself while I was in the shower, I could just try it and see (obviously the brain wasn't in the right gear yesterday). Got back on the PC to try it and thought I'd check the thread before maybe updating it with the results of my test. No need to though because there are people a lot whole quicker-thinking than me. Thanks for the confirmation.

I've activated mine a few days ago.

When I started it earlier, I could only see COH base game. I don't see the CD key for TOV and OF anywhere do I can't activate them.

But when I started the game I can play the TOV and OF campaigns and all the units are in the MP.

Why is that so?
