Name that movie

It was a few years ago, that I saw this movie, so bare with me.

What I can remember is, is that a Dad, has a room in the house, always locked. It had pictures everywhere and such.
The son wanted to find out what was in there.

I'm not sure about this part, but I think the son could see an invisible person, unless I'm thinking of another movie.
The Dad, had a girl hostage, somewhere far away from the house, in like a basement or something.

EDIT: Sorry I can't give a more specific year, but It's from 2005-2010.
