Super Meat Boy at 74 cents, Binding of Isaac at 66 cents, not that bad for my library.

Well that's definitely a price worth getting an awesome game for.

In this case, two awesome games! Although I find hard playing Super Meat Boy, because, you know, the rage.

I got a bunch of games. The sale is fine. You just already have too much stuff.

I thought the sale sucked because I owned everything on sale thus far, ignoring that fact I realized this sale is pretty awesome- great deals but just for stuff I already have.

2011 sale (the year of the coal!) was the peak, then it went downhill from there every year. Also, in the past, there were mostly just 2 major sales, summer and winter, and thats when people mostly bought stuff. Now they're trying to make easter, halloween and thanksgiving sales larger too, so they stopped making the 2 major ones so big. Oh and of course, once you acquire 100-150 of the indie/older "interesting" titles, your yearly choices go down to maybe 15 quality games, out of which 10 are the n-th sequel of an already overplayed game and the other 5 depend on your taste.

Yes, coal was by far the best! Free games everywhere!

I got FEAR collection. But I just can't play horror games!

If I knew I would trade for some buds.

Coal one is the one i remember best too.
This sale and event is not really interesting.
I did buy some €1 - €2 things just for the heck of it.
GTGD tutorials, Divine Divinity and just now Escape Goat.
I hope I'll get around to play those...

The sale is definitely not as good as in the past. It doesn't feel like an event either since there's nothing special happening with it. The auction should have gone throughout the entire sale, not take place before it. The excitement more or less died with it. Now it's just a normal sale.

My big issue with this sale is that I was hoping to get a bunch of Indie games off my wishlist, but none are more than 50% off, so I won't be buying any. Too bad I had money set aside already for purchases I apparently won't be making. I will wait for bundles throughout the year instead and pay even less than I would have had they been on sale now. Bad decision for the Indie developers not to put up higher discounts now as they would have gotten more money than the bundles will eventually make them as I'm sure I'm not alone in my thinking here.

If the auction go throughout the sale, then no one would bid a game. The lowest bid during the auction was 700 gems, which equaled almost $1. But those games are currently $0.49 or less. So why don't just buy the games?

Kind weak this winter sale but it's the first time that I saw ac black flag with 75%, it's a good game to play until the release of GTA V.

I have not enjoyed it either, though I do like the gems. Made some profit from them already, and I got 5900 still to use. I will likely make 8 more card packs, which will get me about 3 more dollars.

I thought this sale was good, but then again, it was my first Holiday sale on Steam despite being a registered user for a few years.

With my Steam wallet:
Super Meat Boy
PAYDAY 2: Gage Mod Courier
PAYDAY 2: Hotline Miami
Overcast - Walden and the Werewolf
Metal Gear Rising
I also liked to get Halo: Spartan Assault and Contrast, but I didn't get cuz they lost the votes :(

From trading:
PAYDAY 2: Gage Sniper Pack
PAYDAY 2: The Big Bank Heist
PAYDAY 2: Gage Shotgun Pack
PAYDAY 2: Gage Assault Pack

I asked my cousin from Russia to buy me 4 packs, so I re-trade them after:
Space Engineers
Magicite
(this happened because I gave him some of my keys and ToDs to sell in market before sale started so he could buy me cheap games, and then Valve fucked all up and put region lock on all games, except games unpacked from NºPacks, so I have to get my money back somehow, and this is the best way, but I can't buy the games I wanted :( )

The only thing that I bough were Super Meat Boy and Metal Gear Ground Zeroes, this sale doesn't really spark a light in my eyes. The Autumn Sale was better, but hey, there are still a few more days left of the Winter Sale

Sale was, for the most part, worse than the Exploration Sale so far. So many poor deals and wth is with the prices, they're screwed up every time the deals change, i don't remember it ever being this poorly done in the past, you have to wait like 5-10 minutes every time the deals change just to make sure those are the actual new prices.

Snagged a few good deals so far (complete Defense Grid, Metal Gear Rising, Shadow Warrior). Also finally caved in and got the Ultra SF4 upgrade pack.
But without silly event to go alongside the sale, it does feel more boring than usual.

Sales is disappointed for me only because I own a lot of games already and games I want are either not on sales or not deep enough knowing I won't be playing them any time soon

I'm boring and hate the events that run concurrent to sales. I managed to gift a bunch of Bad Rats and Daikatana copies to my friends ( soon to no longer be my friends :[ ) so I'd consider this sale a rousing success.
