I use to play Prince of Persia on the PS2, but what are they like on a PC?
If I were to go for a game of them, which one would be the best choice?

Depends on which part of the games you really liked? I personally like the first and original one the best, as its gameplay is incredibly good and groundbreaking.

If you like the newer ones for their combat and action, something like sand of times would probably be more up your alley.

Fun fact, Blizzard made a game once called Blackthorne, which is basically prince of persia with a shotgun. It's challenging, but the puzzles are slightly less intricate than PoP, while offering extra gameplay elements. Honestly it was quite good, and i was taken within the first few minutes. If you liked PoP, you would probably love Blackthorne as well.

Well, if you're talking about Sands of Time, Warrior Within and the Two Thrones better stick to consoles, as the ports are horrible. In the Sands of Time they removed features galore, like the sand from pots (just why?) and the hidden original PoP. I've heard that there are DLCs for the 2008 reboot on console, but on PC they aren't available, and that's a shame as they were selling an extended edition of the ending.

I personally really like the subtitle-less one from 2008, this one http://store.steampowered.com/app/19980/

The combat is a bit lacklustre, but it has excellent platforming and exploration, a decent plot and a non-useless companion.

The one from 2008 is the worst one imo. Sands of Time, Warrior Within and Two Thrones all all very good. I would not play just one of them though, as the stories are linked. I haven't played Forgotten Sands yet.

Play the original of 1989, the immortal classic. PC version lacks saves/passwords, but it is a short game.
