Had this a long time, BhopHunter's method works, but I thought it was 1 minute. If you wanna fix this the only way is to change provider. I did that and it fixed nmy problems.

so that port is confirmed closed, ok - post screenshots of your router's port config page(s) and maybe one of us can spot something wrong.

Turning on UPnP might fix the problem, it's supposed to make all this port stuff automatic.
I see in your first post you've got at least one port open now. Don't worry that you can't be pinged - a lot of routers don't respond to ping as a security measure, it shouldn't affect your game.

Switch to a different CoD or even a different shooter altogether. MW2 multiplayer is pretty broken. since MW3 came out, I've sat down, waiting several days on end with the MP game search running and no results. Switch to TF2 or Nuclear Dawn. much better games

What, asked the forum or Putty (it's NOT a port checker)? Are you sure you opened the right ports? Because Putty worked fine for me on MW3. Have you added MW2 to firewall? Try to disable programs running on the background (like utorrent, download manager etc.)
Btw here is a small tuto for Putty:
connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=1500
connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=3005
connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=3101
connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=28960

KK, I used this awesome program (not putty) and it did everything for me.
Here the screen grabs: http://imgur.com/a/TxKD4
Start from bottom screenie to the top.
As you can see it says the port is open but it's not able to ping.
However MW2 still says it's strict.

Okay. I rang up my broadband provider "O2 UK" and asked them that I wanted my NAT type settings to open. But they said my settings is default as open but I got to add the game ports manually by logging into my broadband account. I did everything step by step and added all the ports in and now it was time to test my game including changing my IP to static.
I used this guide
Tried opening MW2 - NAT type is still strict.
What else can I do to make this work?
EDIT:
PORT FORWARD CHECKER SCREENSHOT
ALL THE PORTS ADDED TO MY ROUTER SETTINGS THINGY
MY PORT PROBLEM http://i.imgur.com/7kqlHh.jpg - I got it to open but it's not pinging my router and MW2 is still strict.
I'm facing bare probs.
Help me out please.
