I thought they cancelled that ages ago (actually couple of months earlier)

Blizzard: 'No, guys, really. We've totally cancelled it.'
Gamer: 'Yeah, we get it, whatevs.'
Blizzard: 'No. You don't understand. This time, we mean it!'
Gamer (Wearily): 'Look, I don't even remember the name of that game. I'm fine.'
Blizzard (champing at the bit): 'Oooh. Actually, it was called Titan! Let me tell you how great it was and how creative we are!'

I just realized if you replace Blizzard in that comment with Phil Phish and Titan with whatever, not much would change

He was a massive asshole who basically had skin thinner than cheap toliet paper.

People hate Phil Fish because their own lives are so goddamn empty that they have to tear other people apart to feel better about themselves. Remember the Salem Witch Trials, it's a bit like that only with people who make games. Oh I forgot, he said something rude on Twitter, he's basically human garbage. Let's hurl abuse at him until he no longer even wants to make video-games anymore.

You're digging too deep into this. It is just a joke. Granted, you might find it funny or not funny (however you perceive it is fine) but you shouldn't see it as anything more than that.
There is a good chance that people you described in above post exist out there in the wild, but this is the most attention he will usually get out of me. And that is not much.

I wasn't responding to your joke. I was responding to someone who directly asked why people hate Phil Fish.

Well, we had no idea what that is what was that supposed to be, so why should we even care?

So, after noticing that what they had wasn't going to work, they are supposed to keep working on it? Sometimes, it is easier and cheaper just to scrap it and start from scratch, rather than hunt down 7 years of code.

So in short, they couldn't come up with anything sensible/substantial in 7 years time, and decided that what they were aiming for was something in an overcrowded market which they themselves already dominate (business-wise). I'm just surprised they kept working on it for so long before pulling the plug.
Now maybe they will wise up and make a Lost Vikings 3 :)

"They did not, Activision bought it and made Bungie finish it.It's called Destiny."
That's the rumors in some Blizzard fan websited, I don't know if it's possible. But MMORPG sector itself is about to die IMO, they need some revolutionary features or Multiplayer and Co-Op games will take over.

Doubt it'll die though WoW's mass success and dominance likely will end soon.

Yeah, because we don't have enough MMO's. Just leave that damn genre already.
I wish they didn't cancel that Warcraft point & click adventure game though. Now THAT was interesting.
