Do you know of any way that people not from Russia could pay in RUB ?

https://qiwi.com
This is like russian paypal. I use this site for charging my steam wallet so it is trusted. I am not from russia but with this site you can add any minimum ammount to your steam wallet ( in $ currency you have to add minimum 5$ as steam says)

It's 49.99 'X' In all countries, X being the currency of the country that you selected in your UPlay account. For example it was 49.99 PLN for me for polish account. And also, use 10thanks code to change 49.99 into 44.99 ;)

Aww I missed that. But at around 5,2£ I'm pretty satisfied anyways :p

5 GBP? Did you buy it at the russian price?

No in Danish Kroner. It's stuck to 49,95 in all currencies it seems.

Dang, they make you contact customer support to change your country.

I'm not sure if the currency is affected by the country selected on account or just the country you're in - try various Proxies/VPN because that was just my guess

FlyVPN seemed to work, not sure though. No email and no orders showing up in my account though lol

so... you found that price bug, bought, I assume, 20 copies and then instantly went out to dance in the streets.
About 3 hours later you stop dancing, because you remember a certain, this, community and post it?
man.. that's pretty... cool.

It's obviously an error. Thanks for the warning but I won't exploit this, it's just as wrong as exploiting Blackwell Deception keys. I don't have double standards

Nah. Ubisoft are amongst the worst around for dicking customers on regional pricing and $=£=Euro logic. Let them eat it up...

It didn't work for me, but since they've made a business model out of ripping people off on currency rates, I wouldn't have the slightest remorse over giving them a taste of their own revolting medicine.

Yeah.If one company has big prices and you can't afford to buy it's products, just fu*k with them :P
And at least in my country, the retail prices of Ubisoft games are awesome :D

Afaik you will be emailed a serial. So I guess you can sell that. Not sure though, as this is a preorder. It does not figure in uplay software though.

I used a Russian proxy, and I got both of the games in the cart for 94 pyo6 whatever, and it even let me log in and such (it kept the russian language and site, even while logged in), but I was too afraid to put in my debit card info. If it was paypal I would have totally tried it, but its too risky for me.

Exactly my situation.

Same for me but I think paypal is disabled because of the proxy, you can usually pay with paypal on uplay. Btw don't forget to change your password on uplay.

I payed 99,98 SEK for both which still is dead cheap, 1/5 of what a newly PC game cost here in Sweden, thanks for the heads up!

1 decade ago

No? Why would Ubisoft pay Valve 30% of the game price when Ubisoft can get 100% using their own shop? EA understands this. I know it can be annoying for most in here, but you really cannot blame other companies. Its not like Steam is the end all, be all anyways.

Cool. Good for Ubisoft to ensure competition. I was however talking about Watch dogs (should have mentioned). Time will tell what Ubi does by then.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Ubisoft aren't as stubborn as EA, that's why every Ubisoft game is on Steam. So I think it's safe to say that Watch Dogs will be on Steam, unless there's an official announcement explaining why it isn't.

There was an entry in SteamDB for Watch Dogs, so currently it is coming out on Steam. Things might change, though it's very unlikely.

Cheapest I can get them as is $8 each. 49.99 Swedish Krona in other words.

Does Uplay do region restrictions? I know ACIV is region locked on steam to RU so buying it via RU VPN seems rather risky.
