Why there is no PM system?

I'm kinda new around here. Yesterday I won a gift, but I didn't say "thank you" to the gifter because I didn't knew how (in this particular case it was a key, he/she didn't add me in Steam). Is there some reason why there's no PM system in steamgifts?

Sorry if I'm bringing some stupid point - the FAQ don't mention anything about this as far as I know...

u can jst go thru ur win page and find their profile see if u can leave a comment on their page or add and thank, or reply the email they sent the key with ?

O...kay - I'm a idiot. I thought the e-mail was something sent from inside steamgifts (so you don't know the e-mail from the other person).
