Description

What did you say? You want your time back you spent on this? Oh well, here you go: have some time!

Time Gentlemen Please! and Ben There Dan That! Special Edition Double Pack Double Giveaway!

I enjoyed playing through these two adventures from one of the early Indie Royale Bundles quite a lot and as the dev himself recently asked for support for his new game through sales of that pack, I grabbed a couple of them for a giveaway. Hopefully the winners will also enjoy these and the somewhat special kind of humour. :)

Well done everyone! Hope you enjoyed the !puzzle, which was not really a puzzle but rather a longer way to a giveaway! ;)

Congrats! Yeah, I said it's not a puzzle (changed the description for all not familiar with the leading "!" term). ;) Was just trying to express my unproductiveness in other ways, so I set up my first giveaway as a rather easy puzzle. Hadn't seen something like this here before, weird combinations of letters/numbers are usually cryptographic code in the puzzles. ;)

That's a good one! :D Thanks for only posting it in here, containing this huge spoiler.

Out of curiosity for all who solved the !puzzle: how easy or hard did you find this? I actually didn't call it a puzzle, because I thought it would be rather easy. The link "hiding" thing is quite common in the forum and the only real question is the third one. And that one gets really easy if you google for example only parts of it instead of the whole string or you know the arithmetic chess writing (which I just minimalised to get one string).

pretty easy i guess. used to play a lot of chess back when i was younger so i recognized the characters

I'm not familiar with chess notation so I had to bang my head against Q3 for a while. I kept thinking it had to do with some of the words being capitalized mid sentence.

Thanks!

Actually that sentence is meant to be a cryptic hint, therefore the capitalization (Real Game Two Players). ;)
Nice picture, thanks!

Ah I see what you..... well OK I didn't see that part xD

itstoohard.com will reveal a hint tomorrow at this time, indicating that the second sentence is meant to be some sort of a hint. Though I doubt it'll help a lot.

Hey, thanks for the !puzzle :) And the giveaway!

Well it didn't dawn on me instantly - from what I've been trained around here to do like a nice monkey it initially looked more like some base64 encoding or something xD Obviously false. Then I googled e4e5 and it was subsequently very easy. I forgot about this notation, haven't played chess much - and what I did play was long ago.

So I've been played with, with a scholar's mate xD

Yes, the puzzle creators are good at training us to think about such encodings when we see cryptic strings! That was what I was kind of playing with. ;)

Thank you, uqblf. Pretty easy for me after seeing e4e5 notation :)

For everyone recognizing the e4e5 it's pretty easy. Though according to the puzzle stats many people aren't familiar with this term which means good odds here so far.

Thanks! lol.
Been up all night.
But this morning, I decided to google 4 of the digits, then I found it!
Nice puzzle. :)

Congrats! Hopefully not spent a sleepless night thinking about that code. ;) But that's the easiest way to find the answer, to google just some part of the string (4+, even when just dismissing the last Q you will still get one hit through google to instantly solve it...).

Thanks uqblf! Man, I'm embarrassed by how long it took me to work out Q3.

The question doesn't seem to be that easy as only 11 of 60 made their way here by now, so well done!
