You know those moments and you don't have enough points but keep the tabs open to join them later?
With just normal ads that went fine, but with a constant video stream it just seems to hogging your system and even resulted in 1 big crash for me.

Why do you use IE in the first place? People only using it to install something better for the first time, not even the new "edge" won't help microsoft.

Honestly curious about this: what makes IE preferable to you?

Kinda one of those "I always have, so why change?" sort of things? I get that. As Movac said, bookmarking is probably ideal in this case then.

Yeah probably. I do have firefox and chrome installed but only use it for certain occasions.
Guess i have to bookmark, but like meatee said there are more bad side effects on to having video ads.

True it's a good tip and i do that too but sometimes you still forget especially with ones closing like within 12 hours.

Eh, I don't want to tell you what to do, but seriously... drop IE. It's not worth the trouble.
I used to prefer IE, because I was more familiar with it. Once you switch to Firefox though, you'll get used to it quickly and you'll never go back to IE.

...Anyways, I don't think you created this thread to get recruited by the Firefox cult, heh.
Like most already suggested, I'd say that favorites/bookmarks is the best solution to handle the problem (after switching to another browser, of course).

Heh no but i guess eventually i have no choice using another browser.

Still there are other issues like meatee said about autoplay and audio, if people want to support SG with showing ads it's kinda pushing some to block the ads.

Try to disable (or copmletely uninstall) flash, it may work. There is nearly no need for it anyway since IE supports HTML5.

Will try that thanks.

Just started for me today as well. There's even one for Verizon that has audio that autoplays. I whitelisted Steam Gifts on AdBlock since I use this site a lot and they deserve to get some ad revenue, but if this continues I'll be forced to block them.

Bookmark the pages instead of leaving them all open.

Since nothing has changed I will enable adblock again on SG...

If it's not flash then turn off video autoplay in your browser, like in FF: about:config => media.autoplay.enabled = false
But actually I don't see anything here at all with ublock.

The thing is, I had ublock disabled to support SG, but since video ads are a no go in my opinion, I decided to enable it again. Those video ads are flash.
