Did you Fall into the VR trap yet, or are you loyal to classic flat screens?

[Tier 1] For now, I'll just buy what's cheap. When we're all fully Cybernetic, I'll do an Incursion into VR games.
[BTA/Tier 2] I Expect You To drop, BTA.
[Tier 3] I don't have enough Raw Data to process the next tier, so I'll stop at this one.
[Tier 4] My wallet will be Walking Dead to Christmas shopping.
[Expensive] Considering how cheap Raw Data was in the Intel/GMG deals, this doesn't look like good value.
[Skip / no VR] I find no Glory in VR gaming.

no vr, no bundle

If it's for the budget option, Oculus Quest 2. If you want it to connect to PC Rift S or Lenovo VR. Last year i got Rift S for 350€ Black Friday deal at official Oculus store.

I got Lenovo Explorer on 2018 Black Friday for 150€. At that price I think it was a very good choice, being conscious of it flaws and all... But I consider it was a great opportunity to take profit of. That has made be able to try VR, maybe in a more humble way than other PC players, but at least, you get to try what this is about.

As far as i been told. yes PSVR can be used on PC sans Motion controllers. You won’t be able to play room-scale games, but you should be able to enjoy Standing VR games that offer keyboard and mouse/controller support. And if you hate Facebook i would not go for Oculus Quest 2 now with their forced FB login and their well known anti-privacy baggage, god knows just how much your headsets may be used to collect your data... i would also remind you that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are just around the corner so you may be able to afford a higher end headset for less.

i don't hate fb i have an account but i read something about account disabled and game lost even if it was a legit account and not just account created for using the oculus .
Yes i will wait but black friday and cyber monday are not really for me . I'm French and here isn"t as good than USA for good sales x) and i should upgrade my gtx 1060 before (it's still ok and i guess i could play vr with it anyway )
The quest 2 seems the best option for a good experience for a minimum price then . Everyone collect data and fb stil have mine .

thanks for your help :)

TBF on VR market you are kinda fucked on the budget zone. Sumarly the only company doing budget headsets is Occulus. The problem of occulus is that their are facebook owned and require facebook account. THis means that the games you buy from oculus can be removed if facebook thinks your account is fake.
Which means that if you arent a facebook user you have to be very careful in purchasing these cheaper headsets because they might get banned/brink and lose your purchases because facebook's algorithm flagged you.
That said even the cheapest oculus headset will probably cost you around 450€. The best is probably quest 2 (it is wireless and has specs similarly to rift S although rift S will probably be more confortable)

If you don't want to be forced into the facebook ecosystem, HP reverb G2 is the best option and costs around 700€.

Go for a cheap Acer H101 hmd, i got mine for ~$185 brand new. The psvr is not a real hmd and you'll be wasting your money if you buy it for pc.

Odd that the bundle description at the top mentions Star Trek: Bridge Crew but it's not in the bundle.

No game bundles for 3 weeks (other than choice) and they release a VR only bundle.. ouch.

Value looks like it's there but doesn't make sense to me from a business side of things to release a bundle for such a niche group. Guess I'm waiting for December Choice.

Crazy BTA...started at $6 USD and kept rising.

I think this must be a first for me. Both BTA titles are on my (VR) wishlist; I don't have any in Tier 1; and I was actually around when the bundle went live. BTA was £4.55 ~ €5.10

Tempted for tier 4. I haven’t played many of my VR games the last couple of months, but after seeing how the ones from the previous bundle haven’t come down in price since I got it.. The Walking Dead is definitely an attractive tier 4 option.

The high BTA does show most VR players tend to go all in these bundles :p

Consider also that Archanged Hellfire, Raw Data and Killing Floor all were given for free at some point (I think it was the Intel rewards program), so many people go for the last tier only.

Yeah true!
Once the average hit a few dollars below top tier, even people only going for Creed and I Expect You To Die would just end up buying the last tier.

It's like Humble is trying to get the lowest possible sales for their bundles nowadays.
Of course it's expensive. That's the point of selling to the VR users, isn't it? Like the Apple users.

Have a VR headset doesn't mean you're rich... VR is getting cheaper every year and accesible for more people.

Permalink

Rich no. But it definitely means you have money to spare in frivolous extras. Which also means you're a perfect target to sell stuff to.

they aren't rich enough to be generous on sg, but to buy a vr headset? that's ok. 💃

I don't have any from this bundle. A-Tech doesn't look half bad, but unfortunately the only one I'm really interested in is I Expect You To Die. Not worth it just for that.

I think there are gonna be two types of buyers:
$15 for people who can afford a VR headset
and $1 for ppl who aspire to buy one in the future
