I have a cat (His name is Sir Cat)
He had blockage so he couldn't use the bathroom.
We asked a friend for the money to save him about 2 weeks ago (300 dollars)
About 2 weeks later (now) he has the blockage again, with some help we've managed to get the price to 170 dollars to get him what he needs.
On one hand is me and my brother. We want him to be able to go to a family that will be able to afford for whenever he may need help.
On the other my 2 sisters and mother want to try to bring him home for 170 dollars that we can't get, but want to try to get.

This is a very depressing situation. What should I do?

Let him go to another family.
Desperately try to find something to sell to get him back.

I think you should decide as a family.
this is too hard a decision

Well, this is indeed very hard decission Shim Shimd. It might not be advice you are looking for but you should do what TinyPurple said - met all together and talk about it. Honestly, I had to make hard decision about my beloved rabbit and I too was looking for help but finall decision was mine.
You see, what I'm trying to say is you have to decide for yourself, you and your family. It's you who will have to live with consequences. I can try to point you out some scenarios if you want, maybe this will give you fresh look on things, but please, don't suggest on that poll (I didn't vote). You have to make a decision, no matter how sad it might be, by yourself. If you will let other people somehow influence yours family decission you might regret it for a long time and it's really hard to live with something like that. This, also, comes from my own experience.

If there is another family that can give him what he needs, then you should let them. Loving something means always doing what is best for them - no matter how much it hurts.

In my personal opinion, I would let the cat get help from a family that could provide better in that situation. As other people said though, this would be a choice for you and your family. It would be hard for most of us to make that choice too, sorry.

Thank you all. I really appreciate the advice. I'm going to sit with my family and talk about what we can do.
