Is this the charity bundle they should have done in December?

View Results
[Buy for the games] A good buy for any gameHunter.
[Buy for charity] I might not want or like these, but cancer awareness is worth my money.
[Have] Even before my latest Great Adventure, I already collected most of these on my Homeworld.
[Skip] If I bought every bundle out there, I'd be stuck here searching for online Payday loans. I'm sure not going for this one won't leave me with any Little Nightmares to regret.
[Lineup complaint] I know it's for a good cause, but did they need to add ancient titles and games given away for Steam/Epic?
[Sliders complaint] It's not a proper charity bundle if IGN get a forced percentage of it.

So IGN is fighting their own bundles? Nice.

I haven't bought any bundles (besides Choice) since "Choose Wisely" in mid-November. If Humble and Fanactical don't make any better offers before this bundle ends, I actually might become desperate enough to buy it despite missing only World War Z.

I literally feel the same. I know I shouldn't, I REALLY shouldn't, but I really want to spend some money.

And did you make up your mind about this bundle?
I didn't buy any other bundle yet and still am "desperate". But I guess I'll rather spend that money on Chrono Cross.

Yeah, I ended up buying it for Homeworld 2. Nothing else impressed me. Chrono might be a good purchase, just waiting to see the reviews first. Hoping they didn't screw up the backgrounds like they did FF8 Remaster. I'm holding out for Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster before I throw money at Square Enix, but Chrono is a good pic.

I have most of those games. I don't care for charity, while I am poor myself. Especially in those times. Also if someone really wanted to give money to charity, they didn't need games excuse. So people who say they are so generous, because they bought bundle for charity are actually false. People who are generous are also modest. Don't brag about their generosity and don't need excuse in shape of games. Those charities exist outside Humble Bundle :)

Wow. That's a lot of issues to unpack.

Permalink

Yes, those who brag about giving money were never generous in the first place. First Epistle to the Corinthians says something about that too.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It'a a point of view, I understand what you mean. I don't plan on buying it either, but...
Bragging "generous" people help more in this case, than someone who gives nothing while judging them. A charity can't run on air, they need money. And no matter if people give their excess, or every single cent to their name to this charity; or they buy it for the games - they they provide more for the charity, than people who don't give anything.

It's not "generosity" that makes these charities run, but the actual money provided. Those non-generous people help more than you or I do. It's okay not to glorify people for helping a charity because the personal value of donation may be insignificant for them (The Widow's Offering) but they money they give do helps.

Comment has been collapsed.

It's not a point of view. Generosity is not bragging about giving money. How can someone giving the smallest crumbs be generous in the first place. Rich person giving $1000 gave less than poor person giving $1. Because for poor person the $1 is more than $1000 for a rich. That's a fact, not a point of view. Rich person doesn't feel lack of $1000, when they earn that in a week and have tons of money to buy anything they want.

No. Bragging people don't help more. You see only inside the box. I can see a problem outside it. People who are arrogant and selfish, greedy and boastful are those people that are the reason why we need charities in a first place. If not for people who think money is the most important thing in life, less people would be rich, but even more less people would be poor. But we have rich people pretending they are generous by giving poor people those that quite literally belongs to them in the first place. Rich person earns money at the cost of those who are poor. Yes. Money doesn't grow on trees. It's not money provided that makes charities run, but greed of the rich people, who make the other people poor. Those who underpays others. Those who are okay with getting more money for terrible job done than those, who are getting job done well. They are okay, because they are rich. Sorry, but if people needing money, didn't need money, those charities didn't need to exist. That's just straight fact. Why do You think those people need money? Because they are poor. What if they weren't? It's all about money. There is no generosity in it. And surely not money provided makes a charity run. Without that selfish greed, charities wouldn't need to exist. If billionaires were millionaires or companies like McDonald's were smaller, but not fighting against world hunger; they fight against GMO, which helps solve world hunger, therefor for money they makes world worse by intentionally let people starve to death, just to get the money... and that's a fact, not opinion. It's pretty solid example. McDonald's is greedy. They are anti-GMO, because that's PR. They are anti-GMO not because they think it's bad. They know GMO helps people. But being anti-GM gives them popularity, because society wants to hear anti-GMO propaganda. GMO helps solving world hunger. McDonald's is against GMO = against solving world hunger. You are giving money to charity for hungry kids, because of money. Because someone gets money on that hunger. That's a fact. And that's just tip of an iceberg. Another example. Government not fighting covid, because they fear they will lose their electoral support if they do, because many people don't like masks, vaccines, so they literally make people die, make people suffer, so they can rule the country, they can get money. That's what my government does right now. They literally let people die, because they fear they would lose their electorate. They even said it clearly. Those are two examples of how greed makes people suffer, which someone makes charities for, which You are paying with Your "generous" money. Sorry. There is nothing generous in being a person responsible for that suffering You pretend You fight against. I don't mean You as You. Generally people, who are greedy and give money, pretending they are so good, generous and amazing. They are not. They never helped anyone. They made people suffer in the very first place. That's really just tip of an iceberg. Droplet in the ocean. Greed makes people suffer. Very severely. Just because they don't put the knife in someone's chest, doesn't mean they are not responsible for those suffering. They are. Greed is the reason why we have those suffering. Why we need to raise money. Because someone values money over lives of others. And many people do. That's all I needed to say. You can try to deny it, but facts will remain facts. And I won't fear telling the truth. I would love people to be nice and kind. But they won't money rules over their mind. It won't rule over mine. If I were rich, I would help, of course. But I wouldn't pretend I gave God knows how much, bragging about my generosity. I would help, because that's natural for me. I helped more people than those who gave thousand of dollars for charities. Because I helped real people in real life. Not jjust gave some random money, because it's nothing for me.

Bruh, don't give Your anti-religion ideology in a thread that has nothing to do with religion. I just quoted one person. if You can't see things beyond labels, You have a big problem, brother. Big, big problem. If only see if someone is religious, then it means for You that they're bad... there is nothing to talk about with You. Because that's a bias.

No, I didn't. If I would bring up a quote of black person, would it be quote about black people? If I bring up quote of Hitler, would I speak about atheism or nazism? No, I wouldn't. It doesn't matter if the quote was from a saint, atheist, black, white, Indian, American, Russian. It does not matter. If You must make ideology out of every comment, You have bigger issues with bias than I initially said. Go, drink a cup of tea, maybe You will think some things through. Because You are really biased right now. Does every mention of any religion-related stuff triggers You like it did that time?

Also it's funny how You got mad, because I exposed Your bias. Funny that You were toxic and biased in a first place :) Now You try to "punish" me with Your ignore list. Hahaha. I already added You to mine. But I didn't have to make big fuss about it. Grow up, little boy. Maybe then You'll find some kind of respect for others, instead of hating them solely because they are telling You facts You can't stand. You literally got mad, because I quoted a saint, which wasn't even merit of the discussion, it didn't matter who said that. Religious person or not. But You were biased only because of Your hatred towards religion, it seems. And instead of conversating about the topic of the discussion, You literally were into battle and destroy mode. So much pride and arrogance...

So supporting cancer research and stuff is nice but I'd also rather donate directly, as many have said before. But at the end of the day, who of us would actually donate if this bundle was not a thing? Food for thought.

Also, does anyone know if the payday mask is exclusive to the bundle or if there's another way to get it?

I've never really been in a place to donate willy nilly but after the last few months, I have been giving what little I can to cancer research. As I stated above, my mother is now a breast cancer survivor. They caught it early so no radiation therapy needed, so far.

So, is this bundle satisfactory enough? At first I thought it 'causes' cancer, instead of fighting against and 'f*ck'.
I'm not buying this, my basic purchase principle(?) is the discount rate of 90% for the games I want, which is cruel for publishers and sellers, but I'm not a millionaire but have loans to reimburse month by month. Agree with the idea of supporting organizations against cancer, though.

LOL is this a Sweden bundle?? Most of these games are Swedish and proceeds are going to Cancerfonden (a good charity, I must say). This should be celebrated with semlor and smörgåstårta.

Haha exactly :D What all the surströmming videos don't tell you is that:

  1. They're opening the container wrong. It should be opened under water, and most preferably outside. You're asking for trouble by just opening it indoors lmao
  2. Many Swedes are also like WTF when it comes to surströmming. I think nowadays it's mostly popular with the older crowd, but maybe it's more popular outside of, like, everyone I know personally

I wouldn't really whip out the surströmming when celebrating something at least...

I mean... at least everyone would forever remember that celebration, right? :D

As a non-swede, I probably wouldn't even know about it, if it weren't for challenges and punishments like these:
