Well if you want the game on STEAM then you have to buy it off steam. I don't think there are any steam CD keys floating around.
But if you don't care then:

That would be the best idea, but it's not a steam key :(

Fun fact: In the US, GameStop does sell GTAV Steam game cards (in the same way they sell Steam Wallet cards.) So technically there is a way to get GTAV Steam version (in the form of a code) outside the Steam store.
Though, they're still $59.99 (plus tax if applicable.) But hey you can trade in your old games to GameStop and save ~$0.25 on your next purchase.

''Thank you for trading in your game, we can offer you $5 for a game you bought from us for $59.99. We can also offer you a discount on your next purchase with us. Thank you and have a nice day.''
I hate this system. xD
That's why I always buy my console games secondhand, got my hands on GTA V for only $15 dollars.

Steam is the only place you can get the steam ver, i think nuuvem with VPN has the cheapest, but it was cheaper during sales.

i meant real discounts, it was 30$ at GMG at some point.

I don't get why steam key is so imprtant. It's not like game will be better thanks to it.

Keys = They're from a distributor.
More distributors = More options to buy the game & more places where a sale can occur.

It's just options man. People like more options than few/none at all. Some people prefer one version over another for reasons (i.e. being able to use Steam overlay properly), but it all comes down to preference. But yeah I don't see anything different in each version gameplay-wise.

Personally, I'd prefer not to have a game attached to a random service. I've already got plenty spread around, and I really don't want to have a single game on a single additional service. I've got groups of games on Steam, Origin, uPlay & GoG, plus stragglers on Gamergate and Direct2Drive. I've probably got something else on another site as well.

it is important if your steamgift game bought from the store is locked to your region...people are still searching for row game keys...

I was in market for GTA 5 ROW steam copy few days ago, and this seemed like the best option for me. (I think it costed me less than $45 at the end)
