Do you think a Asus R7 250 1GB DDR5 is capable of gaming on low - mid settings?

How long do you want to use it?

It might not be enough in a year or two, when games will be made for current consoles, not last-gen (new Batman, for example).

Not sure. Just until I can afford better stuff, which will probably take a very long time.

Save a little more money and pick a 260X with 2GB. Skip the 265.

Hmm, seems nice, but I do have a question. How is the performance compared with a GTX 750 Ti?

Go to the drop down and pick a game, see how it compares there.

From what I see the 750ti is slightly better, Imo Nvidia cards are better but its really preference, I prefer the drivers and quicker updates that Nvidia provides, also the 750ti uses a very small amount of power and overlocks well.

Depends if the price premium is worth it to you.

Performance wise R7265 > 750Ti ~ 260X, one games are better on AMD (COH2) other better on Nvidia (Bioshock) check this Eurogamer review

Also, the 750Ti needs about 60-70 watts and 260X 100-120 watts, if your power supply is about 550W or more you can install any of them, check it.

750Ti is about 140$ - 160$, 260X - 120-130$. 750Ti is a bit expensive, imho.

If you can afford about 160$ there is only one option >> R9 270 (non X),

I hate it when companies completely change their model naming/numbering method... I have no goddamn frame of reference any more.

Yes! The 9800 Pro. What a great card. For the minuscule lifespan it had... Still have mine, though!

Minuscule? O_o....first time I heard that, I used it up to Unreal 3 perfectly fine, card had a ridiculous lifespan, its known as one of the longest, that and the 8800gt.

Don't buy that cheap crap, it won't run shit even on low settings. If you are even planning to do a upgrade then go at least with something like r7 265 or r9 270.

It should because it's an entry level card. Also, what's your PSU amount?
