Don't forget to complete the tutorial. You'll pick up 200000 Favor (new Champions are 250k each if you buy them with Favor, so that gets you most of the way there) and either two Reliquaries (the best lootboxes) or a free Champion (Scalebearer), which is a pretty sweet deal.

Nope. You will get one champion, but if you grind the game (and like someone said above, do the tutorial since it gives you 200k favor) you can buy the other champions with the in game money without having to pay with real bucks. You can also "drop" champions in lootboxes that you will aquire naturally by leveling up, doing challenges, etc.

It's always Ranger, then if you do the tutorial you get Scalebearer. Then, if you grind through the game you might find champions in lootboxes or buy them definitely with "favor" (the in game money). There is also a free champions that is available and that changes every few days. Nowadays, DooM is free to try, then it will change, etc. So if you get the game and do the tutorial, you should be able to play with Ranger, Scalebearer + a random champion from the list

Played some 2v2 ranked since my last reply, and that so far was quite tactical, enjoyable, and felt more like Quake... with fun abilities.
Considering i started with QW, one might say yes?

It's basically copy of overwatch. No fast gameplay like Q2 or Q3A (you can run faster than rocket at Q3A if you think QC is fast, just forget it) , game has a stupid artifact timer, it's mean you don't need to calculate or memorise when quaddamage will spawn. Environment sounds are makes your ears bleed. QC made for new gen people not for old bag like us.

I like it just fine. But im also a terrible shot, and low ranked teamates dont know where they are going, so 2v2 as been painfull
Sometimes the serves all full and you have to wait in queue.
