Faster Than Light, a randomly generated space game.

Haven't played it, but I do know that it's kind of like a strategy game.

You pilot a space ship in a 'rogue-like strategy' game. (It's kind of hard to explain what it is, but it's not a puzzle game.)
It's awesome. I managed to trade for it about 2 weeks ago and have put 29hrs into in that time o.0

TotalBiscuit does a great video showing you what it is here:

+1 Thought it was the most overrated shooter ever.

Nope, I adored it from the second I launched it. Captain Jade and the Failboat have had many adventures together.

My crew has saved the Federation, defeated the thief kazzaplethklik, found the lost civilization of the crystals, and learned the way of the Engie. However, my crew has not unlocked the secret of the Slugs. So if yours has, it's better than mine. (Seriously though. 90+ hours of playtime, and I have unlocked every ship except the Slug Ship and Rock Ship Type B. Dx)

Yeah, it is. You have to stay there longer than them without destroying them, I read about it to make sure I understand the situation next time I find them. Yes, the type B on the Stealth sucked, it was much harder than actually getting the stealth.

I've gotten the Kestrel and the Red-Tail, the Torus and the Vortex, the Stealth Cruiser and the Federation Cruiser. I haven't gotten anything else, but then, I haven't tried yet. Maybe I'll go on a ship-hunting focused spree later, but honestly, I just really fucking love the Kestrel. It's that awesome.

Being a huge bastard with teleporters was how I beat the Rebel Flagship my first time, so yeah, I'm sure I would love the Mantis ship. I just need to remember to keep a close eye on the enemy ship's health. Final stage of the Flagship and I launch the last volley, everything I have to get through it's shields. One single laser breaks through... and I don't transport my crew off the ship in time. I felt like a monster. Rest in peace, Mantis lieutenants... your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Yeah, its insane how hard it is to get some of these ships. You have to have so many random things fall just right and even then it can go wrong.
Im missing at least half the ships despite every run I play these days being attempts to just get them.

No I was the exact opposite. I saw gameplay of it and new from then on that I would be addicted to that game for a while.

I don't usually like like rouge-like game, but this one I lived. Also you should check Star Command, another very nice similar game.

FYI, The 50% Sale in the Humble Store just got augmented to 15 days. I sense that FTL will be in some bundle (not that likely) or Steam Sale soon.
