You can expect most Asian games that have the local market as their main target audience, as opposed to an international audience, to be less prone to go on sale, even if they go on sale it's usually something like 20% off.

I can agree with this. I have some decently pricey visual novels on my wishlist, and they've never been on sale for anything more than MAYBE 10% or 15%, and I've been keeping track of some of them for a good two years or so.

Pretty much any Steam edition of a game published by iWin that was not in some cheap bundle. The four Build-A-Lot games and Coconut Queen had one large sale, around six years ago, and after that, iWin apparently abandoned Steam altogether.

The Build-a-Lot games were the birth of a genre, a subset of time managers. I loved the first 4 games, but even later ones were nice, even if they started to get weird (there was one fairy tale and two "horror" games later, before the series died).
Sadly, they also never seem to go on sale on Big Fish, and especially never at the developer's store.

Just remembered Regency Solitaire.

Saw a bit (don´t remember exactly where) with the dev that has him explaining his earnings (he loves charts!) from games development throughout the years, and finding out that never doing sales helped him in the long run. Quite interesting actually, must´ve been on kotaku or gam....wait a second.

Boom!

edit: Enhanced Steam tells a different story :D

Don Bradman Cricket '14 and 17 have never been bundled or gone on a sale, though there was a permanent price drop for the former some time after its sequel was released.

The devs have commented in the forums that it's not economically sensible for them to put the games on sale, which seems curious.

Contradiction never goes on sale or it feels like it doesn't. I ended up paying full price.

So, was it worth it :? I've tried to avoid any gameplay videos or lengthy reviews, since it's a FMV and both unintentionally, but frequently tend to spoiler linear experiences like that... have my eyes on it for a while, as much as on Late Shift :>.

I absolutely loved it for its cheesy main character and actually pretty interesting gameplay/story. Its very well produced so you won't feel like you're watching some kids with a camera filming their mates. I loved it so much I ended up buying Late Shift, I never thought the FMV genre would get revived but it seems to have been!

Thanks, now I'm even more on the edge of whether to spend the ten bucks or not ;D. Yeah, since I first came into contact with the awesome cheesiness of the C&C cutscenes, and being a fan of trashy b-movies, I can't resist a nice little FMV shlock :3.

Dunno if I'd call a game that had updates/dev posts in March and even this month abandoned...

Not abandoned. It's early access, and there are patches being tested. Devs are active in the Steam discussions.

By the same token, Emerald City Confidential doesn't appear to be abandoned either. It's a completed game, posted for sale by a publisher that is not especially interested in it, but it's not abandoned. It was also on deep sale in the past, just not recently.
