Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields

After my Tour de France event I decided to do small events for the cycling spring and autumn classics as well.

Edit: I have a Australian Grand Prix prediction contest running as well.

How it works

Predict who is going to win the race; that's all. :)

Entries close when the race starts. Since it's a one day race just enter your predictions here.

Once all the classics have finished I will create a special winner's train event for everyone who correctly predicted a winner. There's quite a few classics so you will have ample opportunities to get a winning prediction. Once the season is over I will create a new thread to remind the winners so they can get their entry into the train.

Race Preview

Crosswind or sprint?

This week is the start of the Belgian classics and as of this year Dwars door Vlaanderen / A travers les Flandres and Record Bank E3 Harelbeke are UCI World Tour races as well but having three contests in a week seemed a bit much so we'll just do the Sunday race even though E3 Harelbeke might be the more interesting race.

I'll go with Peter Sagan.

You are missing some of the favorites though. Like Alexander Kristoff or Michal Kwiatkowski.

I know, I didn't want to list everyone as then the list gets rather long. I could also have listed Caleb Ewan and probably another five people.

Kwiatkowski will not be at the start of the E3, Gent-Wevelgem and Ronde: he will do the Pais Vasco and then the Ardennes.

Sagan just fell in E3, hopefully it's not too bad.

Indeed! He finished the race but his race was over! Troubles with the bike! However I saw a really nice finish! Great sprint! Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne next?

Yeah, it was a great sprint; all three had a chance to win it.

Kuurne was 26 February, Sunday we get Gent-Wevelgem. Which is what these predictions are for. :)

A very nice finale and sprint indeed! ^^

Sorry about Peter Sagan falling out of the race.

Yeah, that was a shame but hopefully he'll be fit as a fiddle on Sunday.
