Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields

After my Tour de France event I decided to do small events for the cycling spring and autumn classics as well.

Edit: I have a Australian Grand Prix prediction contest running as well.

How it works

Predict who is going to win the race; that's all. :)

Entries close when the race starts. Since it's a one day race just enter your predictions here.

Once all the classics have finished I will create a special winner's train event for everyone who correctly predicted a winner. There's quite a few classics so you will have ample opportunities to get a winning prediction. Once the season is over I will create a new thread to remind the winners so they can get their entry into the train.

Crosswind or sprint?

This week is the start of the Belgian classics and as of this year Dwars door Vlaanderen / A travers les Flandres and Record Bank E3 Harelbeke are UCI World Tour races as well but having three contests in a week seemed a bit much so we'll just do the Sunday race even though E3 Harelbeke might be the more interesting race.

Favorites

• Funny this, Peter Sagan is top of the list of favorites again... He won the race last year, can he do it again? Yes, he can. Will he? We'll know on Sunday.
• Greg Van Avermaet has shown he can beat Sagan in a sprint, can he do it here?
• Someone's who must be very eager to win a Belgian classic by now is Sep Vanmarcke and he proved in the past that he can do well here.
• John Degenkolb won in 2015.
• In the past few years the race often ended in a sprint so Arnaud Démare maybe?
• Michael Matthews is a contender as well if it gets to a sprint.
• Quick-Step Floors had been having a poor season so far but yesterday Yves Lampaert won Dwars door Vlaanderen, The team certainly has a few riders who can win, including Niki Terpstra, Tom Boonen (it's his last season), Zdeněk Štybar, and Fernando Gaviria for the sprint.
