The developer has removed the depot of the game from it, rendering it useless. The game will show up as owned, but you can't actually install it at all.

Its age doesn't in any way matter, since the information is still relevant.
Rather, the quoting of an official source is generally considered to be something to be approved of.
As far as the relevancy, the fact that this was mentioned by the developer just within recent weeks, and the sheer unlikeliness of them releasing multiple DLCs at once, is enough to all-but-verify that this thread is in fact relating itself to the upcoming free DLC [as no other DLCs are listed as already existing for the game to begin with].
