So you own this which is a diffrent store page then this and you think its a bug that you dont get cards for not owning normal edition?

If so, the answer is no, its not a bug since its not the same store page.

Literally, welcome to Steam. If I wanted to, I could have four badges from the same game (Darkarta) thanks to their idiotic store filing system and some devs absolutely not understanding how it works. I have seen by now maybe a dozen games that have two separate store entries despite being the exact same game, and not because one is a regional alternative (like with Dishonored, Fallout New Vegas or the old version of Mafia 2).

Can you elaborate on that? That sounds so amazingly stupid

Because I'm a mac user, I've noticed another annoying thing. You get a key for a game and it's windows only, but there is another version in the store that has a mac download. Same game, same publisher, two entries. It's very annoying. It's not an issue if you buy directly from steam, but certainly an issue if the key comes in a bundle.

He owns games on both pages, it's the same game. EA messed up as always.

No, if they can milk more money for something, they will.

Its the same game but diffrent appid, meaning diffrent store pages. He said it didnt show that he owned normal edition so he doesnt own game on both pages as you claim.

Appid doesn't matter. It's a bug and should be reported to valve and EA. And your post doesn't make sense. He owns the game the SAME game. If the game has cards they should drop for him.

Valve doesn't care at all about that. This same bug problem has existed for other games (like Arma 2) for years and they do nothing to fix it. They prefer to add cosmetic effects to their store rather than correcting its errors. ╮(︶︿︶)╭
They probably consider that the one who put the game in their shop is responsible for the problem, and not them.

It makes perfect sence if you understand the problem. But when you start to say that he owns games on both pages (when he dont) and then that appid doesnt matter (when it clearly does) then I dont know how I can explain it more clear to you.

Its not even concidered as a bug (I wouldnt call something intentional a bug anyways), its just how its configured. Some makes a diffrent store page (sometimes achievements and card drops on both), some rename the store page so even those with just normal edition shows up as they owned ultimate even though they are not. Sometimes they remove store page completely and make a new page for the new version, like Arma 2 that Melliuc mentioned.

Better to spend that time learning how quantum physics work instead of Steam. Easier and keeps you saner.
