Will you consider the Epic Game Store your new default library?
Bump for the last day or so for Everything and Metro 2033 Redux.
Minit is now available, next game is Surviving Mars
Damn i just bought it.
You can ask for a refund if you played less than 2 hours and bought the game less than 2 weeks ago. Steam refunds are nice like that
Most people who bought Surviving Mars, probably bought it through Humble Monhtly, in which case there isn't any refund. Also, unless Epic also includes all DLCs, this game is like a DLC trap. Meaning, if it's gonna be more than just trying it out a few hours, you also need the DLCs (or the season pass), which cost more than the base game.
I would not call it DLC-Trap.
The basic-game is enough to have some hours fun with it.
Well, regardless of whether it's playableable with just the base game or not: the point is, if you ever want the full experience, the DLCs/season pass effectively cost more than the base game, which is the very definition of a DLC trap.
I thought as much (humble monthly) but there may have been a slight chance they bought it via steam and I saw the user had 0 hours on it so far, worth a shot of letting them know :)
Haven't played the game myself but my brother loves it. Are the DLC's that good ? - just curious :)
The Green Planet add on is a great additon to the late game.
The Project Laika DLC is not worth it by itself.
Space Race is okay but also not needed.
I played the game for 30h in the xbox game pass and after I won it here I bought the season pass for 20€ and have another 16h in it.
I'll prob. play this game in the next few years for ~100h so for me that was okay.
Thanks for the advice, looking forward to trying it out then...and probably end up buying the dlc on sale :D
Should you consider getting the DLCs at some point, here's one more hint: 1st Colony edition (= base game + all DLCs) is actually cheaper than buying the DLCs or the season pass, when comparing the sale price for both.
Thanks a lot for letting me know but i cant refund it. I dont mind it actually as long as the game is good. Same case happened with mutant year zero. I bought it from humble and before i find the time to play it it was free on Epic.
Actually i just started playing mutant and i love it eventhough its my first turn based games and i didnt have many expectations to like it. Its a great game but a bit hard. Considering how much i like it i am happy that my money are well spent even if it was free. I am sure that will also be the case with surviving mars as the free games of Epic are really good for the most part.
PS From what i have read the dlcs for surviving mars arent anything spectacular so if you want to save some money it wont hurt your ingame experience.
humble monthly bundle is getting its value diluted to turd by Epic store freebies.........
Exactly my thought there!
I've noticed the similarities as well but I think it's more to do with the developers of those games cashing in. I've got xbox pc game pass and noticed the exact same games listed there as well:
Enter the Gungeon
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden
And those are only the similarities between gamepass and Epic freebies, if you throw in humble monthly then the overlap is even bigger. These storefronts and subscriptions seem to offer the devs a good amount of cash and makes for good competition (which seems to be a good thing for us, the customers) But in turn makes our choice as what to buy/subscribe to even harder when we notice a better deal a few weeks later
Looking at the list i forgot about a few nice games there ;) (not installed client yet ;) )
Is buying dlc/expansions on epic with some promos even possible?
So I finally got around to actually installing and playing one these freebies, the experience using the client has been ok so far, I definitely miss achievements tho.
BTW, Celeste is brilliant, so far one of the best 2D platformers I played. Wasn't expecting to it to get this hard this fast, and I'm loving it, can't wait to see what it asks from me in the later levels. It's so satisfying when I get one of the harder strawberries.
Last day-ish for Minit bump.
And now last hour-ish,
last minute for minit :D
lust mean it
next week Observer and Alan Wake American Nightmare
Oh nice, been curious about Observer for some time. Also American Nightmare is better than people give it credit for, sure it isn't the Alan Wake 2 I'm still hoping to get some day but it at least continued the story forward if only a bit.
Remember to pick up the FREE DLC for surviving mars.
Surviving Mars: Marsvision Song Contest too, but they have fixed it.
Maybe now is included with the base game, idk
Space Race is one of the bigger DLCs and a good add-on
Thanks, added in OP
and also in title
Lol, the 'Recent' sorting option in the EPIC launcher does not work...
Promo changing today bump

Hm.. Observer, qube 2, layers of fear, alan wake.. And looking back bunch of other games too
All the games humble either has had for free, in trove or in monthly..
Not that I dont appreciate free games, but arent these basically scraps left after humble has had a turn with them ? :D
Qube 2, Alan wake AN and observer qere also given for free with Amazon prime, back when it had good games
It's nearing the end of the year, after all, they might be saving a few better ones for last.
