The animation looks really good. Hopefully they can come up with a decent story.

I'm not 100% sure what unbased means, but are you saying that you think the 1993 movie doesn't look bad? This one.. I'm a big fan of 90s movies, I just watched Dick Tracy last month and though it was decent, but the 93 Mario movie looks so cringy and bad. That's just my opinion on that trailer, I haven't seen the movie.

The trailer for the 1993 movie is terrible (seriously whoever cut that should have been fired), but the film itself was actually pretty entertaining. Don't go into it expecting anything canon to the modern Mario lore, as it just kind of does its own thing with the characters and concepts, and I actually think it was the right choice given the films budget and technology of the time.

The only Mario lore I know of is that the princess is in another castle, lol. I only played the older games like Super Mario and Mario World for the NES and Mario 64.
