Apparently someone who collects keys is called a "cagophilist", which has the advantage of sounding vaguely dirty, but the disadvantage that nobody can spell it and it's not in most dictionaries.

You could call them "Hagrids", since he's "keeper of keys" at Hogwarts, but he's very friendly and not very stealthy, so not exactly a perfect fit.

Keeping in simple, how about "scavengers" - they only take what's freely given, and their success is mostly luck, with just a little skill (unlike a real ninja where it's the other way around).

Or what about "bowerbirds" - they collect random things (sometimes keys) to decorate their nests (=steam profiles). Also used in Australian slang for someone who collects miscellaneous items.

Staying with an avian theme, perhaps "seagulls". I'm thinking particularly of the ones in Finding Nemo who all say "mine!".

Well, I tried, but I still think "ninja" is probably better.
