From my top list I can straightway name Sid Meier's Civilization V and Don't Starve

Pretty much every strategy game with a skirmish mode, but that's like multiplayer.
All RPGs are replayable with a different class, story background. Dragon Age and The Elder Scrolls series are great examples for that. Also Risen, 3 completely different storylines.

On my list of most replayed games:

  1. Civ 5 (welp, it's not really fair)
  2. HoMM 4 (still not fair)
  3. Skyrim (always realised I could do something different)
  4. Burnout (I lost progress by formatting the PC, not because I wanted to)
  5. Risen

really? HoMM4?
not that what other people think matters, but it is the worst in the series.
have you tried HoMM3?

I played it before HoMM 4, but I was a potato back then, a small 4 year-old potato. My uncle keeps asking me the same thing, but I really enjoy them all, I have the I-V full collection, 1, 2 and 3 are pretty much looking the same, but 3 is the most polished, 4 is different, 5 is completely remade, but closer to 3.

And yes, I know the general idea is that 4 is the worst in the series and 3 the best, but one of my uncles liked 3 and the other bought 4, so I grew up with 4.

I don't know, I don't have any free time at the moment to try new games. I barely have some time to play some Burnout, trying new strategy games is out of question.
How is 6 compared to 5?

haven't played enough of 5 to compare. but time is indeed a problem

Well, I played all of them and the first one is clearly the worst. The 2nd one is a decent game, and the 3rd one is great. The 4th one is a different approach to the homm series - I did not like it very much, nor disliked it. The 5th one is a 3d remake of homm3 - it was a disaster at release and from my point of view it has the worst campaign. I don't like this one very much. I haven't played the 6th and 7th ones yet.

+1 for HoMM 4. I know I"m in the minority on this one, but it's my favorite of all of the HoMM games. I love everything about it. The fact that the hero can be played separate from an army. The changes to luck and morale. Might totally rules HoMM4. Get a Might character with grandmaster archery and grandmaster melee and they are nigh unbeatable.

+1 I used to waste days making hero armies made of Grandmaster archers. I just gathered gold for enough heroes to fill a whole army and went to every XP place I knew and fighting small random armies along the way, then I was OP and that army was unbeatable. I thing I wasted hundreds of hours trying that strategy, always ending up sleeping because I was 6 and it was 9 PM...

point of view.
is life daily, yearly, or only one campaign?

I would view it as one grand campaign. I would not consider a turn of Civ to be a complete game, as the turns build upon each other, much like days do in life.

does the turns get shorter in life as in Civ5? :D

The turns are the same length, from an objective point of view. However, your character seems to get buggier as you age, much like progression in Skyrim or most Bethesda games, the turns seem shorter and shorter and the loading times increase after about 3 decades.
There is only one possible ending, I don't wanna give spoilers here, but I recommend that you skip this game.

makes you feel old right?

First time you feel old cause you remember you couldnt set your real age cause you were too young. Second time - you can set real age, but you are almost at the game limit QQ

Have you managed to level up that revival thingy and save Aerith?

Permalink

I've never even heard of that but I'm pretty sure I've played it to the part where Aerith dies at least twice just to test the floating "guides" at the time that would alter her fate.
