I would honestly wait for release, considering the past games could even run on integrated laptop graphics cards I do not trust minimum specs this high especially for COD. We have been told that the PC version will have significant graphical enhancements but from what I have seen it basically looks like the last game with some ambient occlusion and some other lighting effects thrown in, not even the BF4 specs are this high and that looks amazing.
Either A. these specs are false and Activision is up to something B. They are correct and the game is horribly optimized.
My rig could run this very comfortably but I know that a lot of the people who I know play cod on PC wouldn't be able to.

No no, fish AI would be your CPU requirements, 40 GB is because they didn't even bother to compress the fish textures.

Gawsh darn that 40 Gig install! I always break up my hard drives into several partitions and I can barely scrape up that much on the one designated for Steam and other games. It's pretty presumptuous of these wankers to think that CoD is going to be the only game I play for the foreseeable future.

I don't even think it is that large for modern times. I think you folks need to update your harddrives to a reasonable size :p Games with good graphics shockingly use models that uses a lot of memory. Call of Duty will not be the last, I am curious what Battlefield is gonna do next xD Though Call of Duty is probably only that big because of singleplayer shit.

There really should compress it......... Like really...... before making next game..... --> COD GHOST 2 -> 100GB

All gamers should have a 64-bit OS by now. It makes no sense not to.

You should reinstall windows like twice a year.
Are you kidding? Thats excessive, maybe once every couple years, just clean up and use software like CCleaner and others....No need to reinstall twice a year unless you purposefully go on shady sites and even then most stuff is easy to remove.

Starting with, maybe, Windows Vista you don't need to reinstall it at all, nor do you need to use ambiguous sofrware to "clean" your operating system.

IMO the computer runs better if you use a program like CCleaner(Does a nice job on registries) and it clears out unneeded files giving you more space.
Yes though, if you maintain the PC there is not much a reason to go nuts reinstalling all the time...

A computer runs better if its owner doesn't do what doesn't need to be done. Unneeded files can be deleted via Windows means and registrey entries should not be meddled with, unless one really knows what they are doing.

Windows is very imperfect, sorry but registries in windows are terrible and do slow things down, believe what you will though, all I know is once I clear them out once in a while things do run faster, everyone I personally know agrees.
Do what you do and I will do what I do, I never had an issue with CCleaner messing up the registries or my computer in general, not once in all the years I used it.

GTS 450 on pair with HD5870, really? Eighter AMD-unoptimized on purpose or pure bullpoop. 5870 is like 2-3x more powerful.
Comment has been collapsed.
Actually It's not even 2 times more powerful.
Check here http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/video_lookup.php?gpu=GeForce+GTS+450
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+5870
But still a big difference though

Right, forgot hwcompare does not show real world performance. Here's a nice comparison too - in games SLI'd GTS roughly compares to a single HD5870.
I hope it's just marketing.
