The devs sent out keys to the beta edition of the game, that's the version being created right now in giveaways. This will be going free 2 play soon. They unfortunately can't remove this version from the steam store which you can read the reply from the dev in the link below. The version that's actually the paid version(25P) has paid DLC in it. That's not what was sent out.

Here's some info about it by the dev.. https://steamcommunity.com/app/490220/discussions/0/3211505894107201096/

If you received one of these keys you won't want to use it in a giveaway.

Thanks for the heads up, I was wondering where those were coming from.

FYI, these have been added to the free listing, so they will not provide CV, dating back to the first identified GA of the game.

I'm not sure if the beta keys will be removed or not from the library upon launch. If they are wouldn't that cause an issue where an SG member who activated it show up in SGTools as not activating the game?

If everything is ok I have no problem with you deleting the thread. I was just looking out for everyone cause I know something like this can cause a mess for members and more work for support.

If there's no issue I will close the thread or you are more than welcome to delete it if possible.

First off, winner should be suspicious if it says beta when activiating the key and ask the creator for a real key or to have the GA removed.
If its not noted as beta and the key is revoked in the future then the winner will have to ask the creator for a valid key that activates the game. In this case the founders edition. Or just make a support ticket to change from received to not received if winner cant provide. (Or agree to delete.)

Edit: I couldnt see anything about that the keys they sent out was beta keys. I just read the developers response.

Only problem with the suspicion is that some actual games do still activate as a 'beta', so that's not enough on its own to say a key is bad.

Now when I think about it I think this actually happened to me once. Said beta but looked like full game because it wasnt removed. Then I guess the second thing I wrote is correct. If it gets revoked in future. Then there is a problem and winner have to contact creator to resolve it.

There's no issue with the thread! I just wanted to add for info for everyone's benefit.

As far as they game goes, we'll update appropriately if anything else is needed. However, you are correct that if the game is removed from the winner's account, then it would flag as a non-activated win, which is problematic.
