Sounds like a store where you definitely shouldn't buy games. Have you checked trustview pilot for them or is it some grey market where are items sold by random people?

So many sites out there that are more appropriate to handle the issue, and you just had to create a new account on SG?! If you want anyone to take you seriously, cut the bullshit!

My Dad is a Graphic and Webdesigner since more then 40 Years and one Day a Customer said some shi... to PayPal, that he wouldnt got his Files, Work. But he got them and Downloaded them, can see it on Google Drive.

But what PayPal did, they gave the Account a -300 Dollar or something. I dont know how its called in English, but be sure, was not nice. So couldnt use PayPal anymore since many Years. Cause all the Money what came, we needed for Food, Bills. And was not much and is not much what always comes.

So in End, after few Years, PayPal deleted his Account or something. We couldnt recover it and cant get New one. Special in our Place, Situation.

Why im telling this, just to say how FU PayPal really is.

PayPal has shi. Service, if they do more things like that, then i see black for PayPal, never trust them in anything. They dont care about anything, they just believe some Idiots, which are telling shi. and didnt let you explain if its true or not. I hate PayPal so much.

I dont know what to say here either, but see more and more what PayPal really is. Better stay away from them, if possible. Thats all i would say.

As far as grey market sites go.. CJS CD keys is one of the shadier ones. Why did you choose it over all of the more reliable ones?

gears 5 was bundled so you could have used barter or steamtrades to trade for/buy a key

whatever the altergift site is should just have your logged in already, or if not it should autofill your login, but even so theyre gifting games for commercial use, not worth the risk using altergift service

if you paid with a card just go through them, but this will probably get your paypal banned

PayPal needs persistence sometimes. I bought a record from what turned out to be a scam account on discogs. The instant I purchased, I got an email that my PayPal account was shut down for violating their TOS and they would not reverse. For buying something. I opened a ticket and got the same response. I escalated, explained what happened (pointing out how can I be violating TOS/ abusing a system when I wasn’t the seller), and I was able to get a “final, no appeal” decision overturned.

In my case their system clearly made an error and flagged me as the bad actor instead of the other guy, but I pushed and was able to resolve. It might be worth trying one more escalation.

Please also remove the urls/ store names; I know you’re not suggesting people to use them but you shouldn’t be noting them as it’s against the guidelines. Thanks!

I once had the same problem and explained them the whole situation like they were a dumb kid that doesn't know how their system works. It took some days but they understood and made a refund as store credit.

Not to defend them, but maybe your wording and approach to the support wasn't the best, I would try again sending another ticket explaining you bought it expecting a CD Key and not a bot gifting you the game, that they also can check that you didn't use the link provided and therefore you don't have the game, and there is no actual key to be used.
