I've neglected the system for a while, but since I recently found a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and started playing it, I'm going to try and work on some of the backlog I've built up over the time I've owned the system.

So, feel free to pick out up to three games you think I should be working on.

Users who prefer their PC to the exclusion of all other systems don't need to post. Its great you are happy with your choice, but that doesn't mean we all want to limit ourselves to the library of only one system.

Samurai Warriors 3 and Basara are my favorite games. I've spent loads of hours in them.
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is very good too.

Sengoku Basara was pretty great. I started with Devil Kings on PS2, and had to get the Wii game when I saw it. I love playing as the dual spear dude, whatever his name is (Scorpio certainly isn't it :P).

ME ME ME ME

I dunno what to say. Red Steel was enjoyable, so was de Blob. Also try the Kirby game I guess?

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop
No More Heroes
Sonic and the Secret Rings
(also I would recommend not playing red steel.)

I haven't played much of Red Steel, but I found what I did play to be decent enough at the price I paid for it.

I personally loved it after getting use to the controls, it was a nicely done FPS, people just bashed it because it wasn't perfect and honestly it was kinda obvious it was gonna have flaws, it was a release game that tried to much, the 2nd one got in down to a science.

Not much of a gamer at all these days, but I do have a Wii, and even bought a couple of bad games for the kids lately. Mario Kart Wii is probably the game I played most (though it's possible that World of Zoo beat it, since my kids always enjoyed watching me play it). I think I have around 30 games total, and I haven't finished a single game yet. :)

I'm a Wii Gamer! :D But I'm a filthy casual with it. D: As in, the only one of the non-VC games on your list that I've played is Sonic 4 Episode 1.

Also, I prefer Mega Man 10 to Mega Man 9, but it's understandable if you don't wanna get MM10

I would like more digital titles, but I can no longer buy more Nintendo credit for the system locally, so I'm out of luck there.

I bet you could get someone to hook you up with some points.

It would need to be someone in New Zealand, or possibly Australia. The points are region locked. Australians would have better luck most likely, they have more stores that could be selling the points cards still.

Points are region locked? Wow.

Yeah. Quite an annoyance. I might need to look at setting up custom firmware in the future so I can get exclusives, despite my dislike of piracy. I don't think I can even get WiiWare titles on a Wii-U without the regular Wii points.

With all that talk about Overkill I thought you would have beaten it already (I haven't either). I got a Gamecube and I'm playing Super Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker at the moment. I wish I'd find Twilight Princess, but people ask shitloads of money for it. They can go fuck themselves obviously.

I love the game, but I need a new wiimote for co-op since my flatmate demands he beat it with me, since we started the game together. Co-op is better for that game anyway.

I got really lucky with Twilight Princess, for a copy for only $15. :D

Nah only GC version is expensive.

Both are expensive here. People love to shove stupid prices on certain series. Most of the LoZ games I see are close to the hundred mark if not over.

Zelda, Metroid, No More Heroes and Zack&Wiki are some I really liked. And you can fit Kirby's Adventure in at any point, it's fairly short.

Haven't played most of those games but The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was my first Wii game and it is an awesome game. Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes and Samurai Warriors 3 are also awesome games. You have already beaten Sengoku Basara so you should give Samurai Warriors a try.

TP on wii had too much waggle, Skyward Sword uses it as it proably was intended with motion +. Not surprise it's was only 15. Most people at the time probably brought the gamecube version as well.

Fishing bugs me, but sword fighting isn't a problem. And I'd rather go with the $15 I found this copy for than the prices the Gamecube version goes for on TradeMe (a NZ auction site I use).

My three choices would be Ys Book I & II, Sonic and the Secret Rings and NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, but you have several other great games in your list =)

Trauma Center is fantastic, New Blood is easier than Second Opinion but I actually enjoyed it more. They ironed out a lot of the kinks that were present in SO too, much smoother experience.

House of the Dead: Overkill can be smashed out in a couple of hours, I really enjoyed it. Yeah, it's a gimmicky rail shooter but the humour is plentiful. RE Umbrella Chronicles on the other hand didn't grab me at all.

And my final recommendation of the mix is de Blob. I think that game was largely ignored but I thought it was lots of fun.

Little King's Story, Disaster and Madworld. I could name many more as I have quite a nice collection with over 100 games. LKS is really a great and deep cross-genre, Disaster just hooked me with it's Storyline allthough animations were a little flawd but I had really much fun with it and Madworld is just a game that should be experienced once for the graphic style and the over the top storytelling/action. And for the Wii-Shop-business you mentioned: You can use a Creditcard for this too if you don't find points. If you only want to use your list, Disaster, Project Zero and Zack & Wiki for a variety of fun ^^

Dead Space: Extraction is what got me into the series in the first place. It's a neat short on-rails shooter.
Honestly, haven't played the first No More Heroes, but the second one was awesome.
Sonic 4 is rather short and it grew on me over some time. Physics are horrible (I think they used stuff from Sonic Rush) and Wii version's soundtrack is hit-or-miss, but it can be enjoyable.

Dead Space: Extraction wasn't my first Dead Space, but its what convinced me to get a Wii. Had it before I got the system. :P

I haven't played my Wii in awhile, but once the coming holidays are upon me, I'll be finishing Super Mario Galaxy 2...and hopefully Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles & The Last Story.

For your list, I'd say Project Zero 2: Wii Edition (I've wanted to get that game), Pikmin & No More Heroes.

I'm a proud Wii-owner, even if it's the worst console I ever had, and so probably the last one I'll buy unless I become rich or something, in wich case I'll happily buy a Wii U.

Anyway, I used it mostly for GC games (even if I have a GC too), but I have a bunch of Wii games as well, I would like to have more but I don't have the time/money for now.

Do you have a Wii Motion Plus? If so I recommend Red Steel 2.

Also this:

  • Fire Emblem: Radian Dawn
  • No More Heroes 1 and 2
  • Pikmin 1 and 2
  • WarioWare: Smooth Moves
  • Just Dance games (for parties)
  • Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Haven't played it but I've heard it's good)

More recent systems get put off for half a decade, I tend to upgrade when news of the next systems start to leak. :P

Plus, I've always been slow with the Nintendo consoles. Got the Wii and Cube within 2 years, and the N64 a few months ago.

Well, my Wii broke a while ago.
I remember Metroid Prime 3: Corruption as the game I had the most fun with and spent the most time on.
It's great! And I remember there being a Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii, with previous 2 games compatible with the Wii controls.

Yeah, wouldn't mind the Trilogy collection, but that was never very common. The US recently got a reprint for some reason, but my country still has bugger all copies available to find.

Fortunately, I own both for Gamecube, a system that manages to make my Wii collection look impressive.

On your list, I'd say Trauma Center: New Blood and No More Heroes.

If you can, I'd recommend on getting:

  • Xenoblade Chonicles - [Beaten] Played over 100 hours. A JRPG with a big and beautiful world.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - [Beaten] If you are a Legend of Zelda fan, you might like it.
  • Okami - [Beaten] If you haven't played this from the Playstation systems, then join Amaterasu's adventure.
  • Muramasa: The Demon Blade [Beaten]
  • Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 [Beaten]
