Slowest site on the internet since ever.

I've been using Steamgifts for 3 months now because of multiple games I don't need in bundles. But I don't have the courage anymore to give them away when I need to reload the site 20 times to hope that I can get the page loaded, wich takes an hour or sometimes doesn't work, therefor I give the games away on a Steamgroup I made. Please do something about it, I'm sure people will be giving away more gifts when you have a site wich actually works.

Edit: One positive thing is that I read that I'm not the only one with the problem. Hope it gets better.

For me, the slowdown usually happens during specific times. I don't even attempt to go to the giveaway pages during those times. Try to find some other time to log on to the site.

Today is the only free day I have, therefor the only day I can try out different hours, yet I haven't been able to load the site faster than 5 minuted waittime. Don't think it'll get better with the hour increasing now.

This^^ during the middle of the day and the early evening usually it get's quite slow, but otherwise, it runs quite smoothly

Site works just fine. Lags just every now and then. Once every month or two it crushes completely, but it's really not such a big deal.

Perhaps its time of day related but my experience over past few months is its far from fine. On a good day it takes a few seconds to load each page. That's about 1 in 10 times I try. Occasionally it just dies and I get nowhere. Most of the time though I find every other page load fails and ones that work take 10s of seconds each. That to me is on the edge of unusable which is a shame.

I remember how works dlh, which giveaway Enclave - it works much worse. Need few hours to register/login. PS. Gameagent.com works much faster than steamgifts.com

The site went down completely yesterday and sometimes it can take a while to get back up to full speed afterwards. Also remember that this site is a frequent target of DDoSes (or at least threats of them) by petulant manchildren QQing about their suspensions.

Thanks for this reply, this explains alot. Would be a shame if it would be a standard loading time as this is one of the best sites around.

It's been mentioned countless times that the site is only using a fraction of the hardware's capabilities. The database redesign is probably the best chance of getting us back to a decent speed.

The first 2 months I used the site I didn't have problems, except when needing to login, that was a huge problem wich took more than 30 tries, once logged in I never try to delete cookies hehe.

Works as usual. I didn't see difference. Site work all time similar. I see difference only at special time, so mostly use it at night at my timezone. At day site load horrible slow, it take long time wbefore load single site, and often it isn't able to load. And need few reloads before it load single site.

Normally site works just fine, and even avalanche of created giveaways on bundle/sale start don't slow it down too much. But last 2 days... It is AWFUL!!! Every page takes few minutes to load, often don't load at all with "not available" error message and takes several tries to load it again... Horrible, painful, frustrating... T.T

Praise the Lord!!!! I managed to load SG Forums for first time in the last 24 hours (and its 0:30 AM here) Seriously, I dont even bother trying to do it during the weekend anymore.
