Special Edition adds Lady, Trish and Vergil to the character roster, speed-up skill that makes the characters run faster activates significantly faster than it did in the original DMC4 and the game is less stingy with currency. On the other hand you'll need a hex editor to turn off the vaseline vision Capcom saw to inflict on this flawed gem of a game.

As far as I know, the only thing that's "watered down" a bit is that you get Proud Souls somewhat faster, so it's easier to buy upgrades.
On the other hand, you do get 3 more characters to play with, and supposedly they're quite different from Nero & Dante too.

i wonder which version i should play? i come from ps2 times from DMC :) i dont need watered down shit etc. or is the SE really an improvement?
