Oh wait Alexander doesn't actually exist so base + BI is already the Definitive Edition equivalent, my bad. :^)

Yeah, I was just trying to be funny. Rome definitely needs some attention, especially with some really irritating bugs, but we all know it's never gonna get it. Not that I expect those definitive editions to have any fixes, either. :D

Tbh, they did not say much about what the definitive edition mean. I dont see any explanation or updates on the game. I am most interested in MTW II but never seen a good deal before today that I'll take chance on. It just seems like a rebranding to me. Dusting off the dust off the shelves and give the owners of the base games the DLCs which is great. :D

It's probably just rebranding and integrating the DLCs, yeah. :)

Yep, that one. I have it, too. :)

It's said that you should never explain the joke, but since we're here: I'm just memeing the fact that Alexander is considered a very bad expansion by a very sizeable and/or vocal portion of the more hardcore fan base. I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing with them, just acknowledging their point of view and its reasons.

medieval 2 already included the expansion if you redeemed certain retail (boxed) cd keys - you can actually redeem just the kingdoms expansion in some cases and get the full whack (like i did). I assume thats no longer the case though.

Yep, no new content, basically just rebranding and giving everyone the DLC for free.

That ^ you need to try then let us know. I redeemed my Empire TW Collection key from Humble and its the Definitive Edition. That however proofs nothing as the collection itself contains all the DLCs. Basically looks like a rebranding to me. Cheers~

Napoleon's Peninsular Campaign is pretty awesome, and Medieval's Kingdoms may be the greatest DLC/Expansion Pack of all time.

Does anyone know if the base game keys from Humble etc upgrade to the full game?
