Would you stay in prison for: (depending on your age) - (medium security, not much technology or connection with the outside world)
$15 million USD? That's like, the best APR/interest you could get except for the less than 18 years old, too much fun stuff then.
The only other thing to consider is whether a record would be involved (how would the jail time look on your record, would you still have to register as a ex-convict for fake felonies?), otherwise man, that'd be pretty easy. You can easily live off of the interest of $15 million. There's something about $300k USD and some interest rate amount and it would equate to a basic living stipend, so imagine $15 mil.
Also, great time to do education as some prisons offer educational courses.

6 years to wipe out my student debt? yes please!
...I wish I'd gone to college somewhere other then the US :(

I remember an exchange student who was studying something similar (they did not have the exact same study in her country) to me.
However she would only have to study for 3 years for her degree, didn't have mandatory classes (it would start around 9.00 and end somewhere are 12-14.00 according to her) and it was tuition-free. Maybe there were small fees, but attending college was free; she did not have to pay for any of her years in college.
Then again, maybe things have changed and I probably don't have the whole picture (there may be more differences good and bad I don't know of). And maybe I am better off studying longer and with compulsory courses and attendance. But it did make me wish I had more freedom and didn't need to pay as much :x

Here going to university/college is not only free, but the government gives you some money for doing so (not much, mind you, and if you're not living with someone who pays for food and shelter for you, you'll have to take loans). The same thing still happens if you go through your university to get a spot as an exchange student. This sometimes results in US students coming here and having to pay their university fees for studying at one of our universities, while whoever goes to the US goes there and gets money for doing so.

I am currently studing in Denmark and I get this SU (money from the government, because I work at least 45 hours / month and I also study ) and this SU + the sallary that is not big at all, it's more than enough to live here, even if everything it's pretty expensive.

Take a 4 year sabbatical and get paid 4 million?
That's the best offer many people will get in their life!
A lot of people will serving what seems like life imprisonment at a low-paid job anyway.

I am 33, and I think someone who choose "prison" - not really understand what prison is.
Comment has been collapsed.
It is. Som times prisoners live better then some one on a freedom.) Like in some Scandinavian countries.

But there is an other side. Dark side. When more you steal, then less chances you have to go to prison.
I mean our countries - ex ussr republics. Here you you can get many years of prison only if you steal food because you have nothing to eat, and only some penalty when you steal millions from your own people. It start 100 years ago and still goes.(
I like China, steal from budget - hands off (but even there it's most like screen-show for people, but atleast they do something).
As I say for cheaters: cheats on = balls off.)))

You're absolutely correct of course. I'm sure stealing an apple or a piece of bread from an ATB would land you in a lot more trouble than "diverting" billions from the state budget ;)
I'm not sure how far topics of this nature can go on SG though, so I'll leave it at that instead of going further ;)

44 and No.
I have a wife and three small children. No amount of money would be worth it to them or to me to separate for the next bunch of years.

I chose no (30-45). I'm well enough off and would miss the kiddos growing up. I also think folks forgot to read the OP, so I'll start off the questions:
Would you punch a random person on the street for $1,000 (USD or equivalent)? Any ramifications that come from doing so would be yours.

Well. The OP poster immediately broke his chained questionnaire of ridiculous choices by turning this into a survey of his original assertion.

I will respond. I don't think so, I am from Denmark and probably I'll get arrested pretty fast. xD
Would you adopt 20 dogs (anything you want) for 2.5k $? (you need to keep them for the rest of your life, but you don't need to carry them anywere you go. Just like if you would have one animal, you leave it home and etc. but you will have 20 MORE.)

I am sure you can feed some people for some days with that amount.

For me the problem isn't so much the stay in prison, but what it implies. People who go to prison have done something bad or at least got accused of one. Wouldn't want to do the first and wouldn't want to experience the second, it's the kind of thing that can ruin your life.
If it's only a 'go to prison where other people who want $15M go, as part of some bizarre experiment', then I might have if I was single, but I'm unlikely to leave my family for 4 years, especially if the money comes at the end, which means they'd have a lot less money to live while I'm in jail.

27 and hell no, you'll have a criminal record for the rest of your life which prevents you from doing all kinds of things. Plus, I'd be throwing away some of my most valuable years. And I haven't even got to the whole money doesn't buy happiness thing...

Hi, I came up with this very "original" game. Where you ask the next user that will post, if he would do "this/that" for an amount of money that you decide.
I will start, you all will answer this pool, and another user should start with a question, than the next one should answer the question above and write his own question for the future user that will answer. I wish I am pretty clear. ^.^
