Have you experienced ads with sound on Steamgifts?
I also started getting them yesterday, really annoying. I usually don't have my speakers on when I browse steamgifts, so maybe I didn't notice before - but that's my solution for now as well, keeping the sound volume low/off instead of blocking the ads

I am always ok with ads but voice ads are very irritating and i hope i will not encounter any voiced ads here.

don't those only make sound when you hover over them?
i'm with music on all the time, and haven't came across them yet (luckily)
but one would make turn on Ad block again

for me it was a YouTube video that starts by itself, and when you hover over it there are no controls, so you can't even pause it or turn down the volume for just the video.

The block 'n load one is actually an embedded youtube video, you can stop it by clicking on it

if it's flash you can use "flash block" extensions. The FF one in particular blocks all flash/html5 videos/webm formats so they don't auto-load ... yet it doesn't remove ads.

really? It had a YouTube logo, and usually when you click on those, it sends you to the YT page, so I didn't click it and just loaded a new page instead.

i don't use adblock, but I've yet to encounter a sound ad on steamgifts, it's a bit weird. Do a scan with malwarebytes just to be safe :o

Ads are regional, don't forget that.
Amúgy nem, még az idegesítő Blizzard reklámok is némák, pedig ők aztán imádnak hangos reklámokat üvöltetni mindenki fülébe.

hát jah, bár engem személy szerint a nem hangos reklámok is néha kikészítenek (példának okáért a különféle animált Devilian reklámok amiket az oldal előszeretettel nyomott a képembe annyi alkalommal)

Azok… ugh. Próbálom segíteni az oldalt a reklámblokk kikapcsolásával, de amik ide jönnek… az a Devilian még semmi volt az állandó G2A-reklámok vagy akedvencem, a potencianövelő csodaszerek mellett. Mintha valami legalja ufóhívős és/vagy homeopátiás lapon lennék a reklámok alapján.

Deviliant én is utáltam. Cities Skylines reklám? Persze, még örülök is neki, hogy témába vág és jó dolgot reklámoz. De azért az Aldi olcsó krumpli se volt semmi :D

Yes, i had some ads with sound on another site (Indiegala).
And i found out that when it happens, you can put it on mute or something like that.
And i haven't had any sound any more.
So maybe it is the same on Steamgifts.

I don't know about adblock but uBlock can block certain elements, so it might be worth a try.

I have those type of ads too, that's why I activated AdBlock just for a while.
The funny thing is AdBlock itself can block some specified ads, but only when it's on. It basically means that if you find and ad it didn't block, you can manually block it in the options. But if the site is whitelisted, it won't block it anyway.

Recently there's a few voiced ads - just got a Block 'n Load one, and there was another one that's a little more common - I've got it like 2 times a day. Is this normal? Can I use Adblock to block only certain ads? I have it turned off because the site needs to get some money to go on, but these ads are so annoying that I seriously considered to turn it on again, but first I wanted to ask you about your experiences / advice about the ad-blocking programs. I'd prefer to leave the site unblocked, and filter out the annoying ads - is there an extension that lets me do that?
