Hey,

Would it be possible to make it so that if you have visited/entered an invite only giveaway you're able to click the giveaway in the creators/users profiles to go to them?

Once the invite only giveaways have ended you're able to see the game being given away, as well as the amount of comments, but they're not clickable. It'd be nice if we could click them if we've either visited them using the link, or if we've entered them.

Just to clarify, if you haven't been to/entered the giveaways, keep it as it is now unclickable. But if we've entered the giveaways/visited the page using the link let us click the title and get to the giveaway page.

Hope this makes sense and hope it hasn't been suggested before.

Thoughts?

Good or bad idea?

You can already see all giveaways you've entered, by going to the Giveaways page and then selecting "Entered". And once on that page, you can search (if you're looking for a particular giveaway).

We know that, but it would make sense to be able to reach the giveaways from the user's profile as well, just like it would make sense to show the giveaways instead of "Invite Only" for our own giveaways in our own profiles.

Showing the full giveaway info/links etc on your own profile for your own in progress invite only giveaways could probably be added in the same go as it touches the same code.
Fingers crossed that this is also added, if the suggestion gets implemented.

as canis39 stated, it worked for any entered GAs, but for visited, I imagine that is too much data to keep track of

Yeah, I can see how it could be a lot of data. But for entered giveaways I still think it'd be great if we could click the giveaway on the creator user page and end up on the giveaway page.
That way there's already a record being kept for you that you've entered that giveaway, don't think it would be too hard to make it a clickable link if that's the case. (IF giveaway is entered, make link, ELSE no link)

It could be done for entered ones, but from the giveaway creator's page.
It should take no more data than is already there.

do you mean to say that SG already tracks (and stores) every page we visit on the site? That seems like a waste to have such details logged unless troubleshooting or checking for bots

No. Read it again. Entered means the ones you are participating in.

I don't know how much they track beyond that.

and entered already works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The OP is requesting this functionality for visited links

Edited the topic to clarify that entered giveaways would be acceptable as well. The idea I originally had was for either or both scenarios.

right, it makes sense for it to be reachable from the creator's profile too

Not from the giver's page, which is what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I'm offering an alternative that would meet him halfway without requiring more data to be recorded.

topic clarified and now we're all on the same page :)

No it'd only be a lot extra data if we have to keep track of visited but not entered giveaways, if that's not already done.
For the entered ones we need no more data, just need the code to IF ELSE and output depending on that. :)

I had this in mind for a long time. But was too lazy to actually suggest. It will indeed be convenient.
