Which games did you pre-order on Steam and are you still happy about it?

1 preorder > endless space. worth it

I've only preordered Age of Empires II HD, which I basically paid nothing for.

EDIT: Launch issues aside, I'm happy.

Borderlands 2 and totally happy about it ^^
However, Dead Island Riptide is another case ¬_¬

I preordered Half-Life 3. I feel... conflicted.

FEZ, and its the best game ever.

• Batman: Arkham City - preordering was wise decision, because it was later made unavailable in my country.

• XCOM Enemy Unknown - was not able to even play the game when it released (didn't have Windows 7 back then), preordered to show support for turn-based tactics genre.

• Brutal Legend - amazing game with unique setting.

• Strike Suit Zero - gave it away here, bought for myself later.

• Sine Mora - gave it away here, later played on Vita.

• La-Mulana - gave it away here.

I never pre-order on Steam, mostly because the prices are just really high and not worth my time. If I'm actually pre-ordering video games (which is rare, since a lot of the games now are overhyped and there's no actual way to check out the game) I'm ordering a boxed version online. It's a lot cheaper than on Steam.

Bioshock:Infinite, still happy with it, as i had XCOM Enemy Unknown as one of the prizes.

Grid 2 (haven't played it or the Grid 1 pre-order bonus much but from what I have played, I'm very much going to enjoy them. Just gotta get past my exams...)
Don't Starve (pre-ordered off the dev's own site for 2 Steam and 2 Chrome keys so I split the price with my brother. For the cost it's a fantastic game.)

Don't think I have whole lot of preorders on Steam in the end. Greenmangaming usually has much better deals on pre-orders, and if not, grabbing a copy from Amazon is cheaper than Steam on launch day.

Looking at my history, looks like the latest game I preordered on Steam was L4D 1. (tho I suspect there are others since that, but they've been gift-smuggled with US Steam prices.)

both portal 2 and dead island (the original) i am pretty happy with the steam pre-order for... granted dead island got boring quick but i would hesitate to say that i disliked what i played so i think it was money well spent... the second being portal 2.... and how could i not be happy with that purchase (i rarely pre-order anything unless i am hyped about it.... in the last 4 years i have pre-ordered 3 things, the 2 above and metro last light which was retail pre-order)

I think I pre-ordered only Portal 2, despite knowing that the price would have dropped very quickly. No regrets, I really wanted to play it asap and I loved the game.
It was an exception for me though, 90% of the times I wait for a -66+% sale. :)

• Assassin's creed 3: bollocks, not worth my money. Fucking unplayable, paid 80$ for this.
• Bioshock Infinite: Totally worth it, so much bonuses
• Surgeon Simulator: Not worth it, but looking at the game hub it may have more ptential if the devs updates it
• Borderlands 2: Totally worth it again, paid 90$ and I saved the whole gaming club in my university who can't afforf borderlands 2(install in many pcs then turn steam at offline mode) also it's fun to see people whine about them not getting DLCs for free
• Sniper Elite V2: fair price, I had fun on the game
• Torchlight 2: Totally worth it since I don't own TL1.
• Ace combat: not worth it, port was a flop
• Waveform: Totally worth it to support this developer, fun game
• Brutal legends: +++ super worth it, costs only 15$ and I rebated 11$ selling the bonus tf2 items (so it only costs 4$ for me)
• Cubemen 2: Backlogged, no comment. but 6$ for 2 copies I think is worth it
• Anodyne: bought directly from dev, only cost me 90 cents so totally worth it lol
• Blade Symphony: backlogged yet, can't say
• Don't Starve: backlogged, but 12$ for 2 copies is worth it. I traded it with a profit if I remember correctly
• Dust: An Elysian Tail: backlogged, no comment
• Fairy Bloom Freesia: Backlogged, pre-ordered just to support dev (I was still an anime sucker back then)
• God Mode: backlogged, no comment. Got it from 4 pack pre-order
• Kairo: Backlogged, bought @ russian price. No comment
• Starseed Pilgrim: backlogged, bought @ russian price. No comment
• The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Backlogged but totally worth it. I'm a diablo sucker.
• They Bleed Pixels: backlogged, only pre-ordered because of trailer. No comment
• XCOM: Enemy Unknown: backlogged but worth it for pre-order bonuses
• YS 1+2: backlogged, pre-ordered just to support devs

Well, the only game I have ever pre-ordered; Runner 2.

Granted, I haven't beaten it. After I beat World 1, I went back and got a Triple Perfect Plus on it. Still haven't moved on to World 2, though. x3

Max Payne 3 (great action game, MP was fun. I also got lots of bonuses bunch of dlcs, Max Payne 1 & 2, La Noire Complete).

Killing Floor and Torchlight 2 (by trade). Never regreted pre-ordering those.

I regret pre-ordering Portal 2 and I will never pre-order anything again.

I don't preorder because I'm not dumb as a brick. It's affecting the industry. Before calling me stupid, do some research and free advice for all the sharps: don't preorder - ever.
