Yeah, why do we have so many zombie games out there? It's like the beginning of some "Zombie Game Apocalypse"

In all matters, I believe a restaurant condiment world takeover would make a good game. Or gangsters, or hipsters, or whatever the modern 'craze' is.

Zombies are easy, they kind of look like humans, but you can give them crappy animations and blame it on being zombies ;)

Think of this from the point of view of the developers':

I need some AI, the player can enjoy killing in masses, and not criticize it's intelligence. Bonus points if it can't shoot because I don't have to work on their aim, accuracy, guns munition.

And when the developers look at successfully games like the Last of Us, or Dayz(Arma II mod), with zombies as those dumb AIs, he found the solution.
It's quite harder to make a smart AI than a dumb one.
