Death Rally REMAKE controls suck?

i love the original death rally game so much, just played the remake for 5 minutes and was going nuts. are the controls so wacky or what? steering is a pain in the ass or am i doing something wrong?

I think it was just made that way. I remember giving the game up after a couple of minutes because of the controls.

Are we talking about http://store.steampowered.com/app/108700/ ? I had some fun with it. According to Steam, whole 5 hours.
