Seriously!!!!

Why are there so many people who don't bother contacting the creator and just mark "Not Received" after a week has passed!?

There really is hope Jatan11t because at the end of my 600+ cars train I was contacted proactively by 4 users.

These 4 users had the only key hiccups of that train (4 out of 726).

1 user had a bad IG Axyos key that I replaced with a DIG one.
1 user had a bad IG Days Under Custody key that I replaced with a DIG one
2 users had bad Chaos Domain keys but that was totally my fault as I had 4 keys (1 used for me, 1 traded and 2 spares and I inadvertently placed the used keys in the giveaway key zone).

All 4 problems were solved easy without stress, noise and harsh words! :-D

But I did mention in my OP that if there were troubles to post them in the giveaway thread.

I just double checked and the giveaways mentioned here above were CV 2+ and the giveaways were SGTools giveaways with the standard reqs that I use (all activated, no multiples and no bans).

Edit: In that train I was even proactively warned by some users/winners that they already won the game in other giveaways that (I checked) were ending at the approximate same time like my giveaways.

I think forum users are generally the good people, but unfortunately we're the minority of the total users.

That's imho a valid point you make about forum users.

In my last SGTools train of 117 cars I have 117 marked received in 3 days. Also for those 117 cars I had only 2 re-rolls for already owning and 1 invalid SGtools entry.

I think that besides being forum users that also SGTools plays a part because people that enter SGTools giveaways know that if they should not activate games and have multiple wins (all activated, no multiples and no bans are the reqs that I have seen as mostly used by SGTools giveaway creators) that they would miss out on any future SGTools giveaways.

I won a game, but key is already used... 1st guy won it but he won this game couple hours before so he ask creator for re-roll, creator re-rolled and here is a problem because 2nd guy use the key and creator thought... i don't know what he was thinking... he re-rolled it again. Now i am the 3rd guy and key is used. Now what?

me
key is used, i cannot activate it :(

him
This is a misunderstanding, and the second REROLL were used.

me
So ask support what to do because i have to mark not received - or i will have problems with sgtools (a lot of people have rule that you have to activate all won games)

him
This is a mistake, the first two have been RE ROLL (middle man I did not pay attention to see) I think he has to RE ROLL will cause this problem (so you're sorry, I have asked SUPPORT to help, because we have been asking RE ROLL, I did not notice the second is RE ROLL lead to him he was very happy, I'm sorry my English is not good, resulting in a third place winners provoke you into this trouble, the problem I want to solve okay ?

me
I know what you are trying to say but i have to mark as not received or im screwed on steamgifts as a guy who is not activating games which he won :) I hope that support fix this problem for us.

him
The focus is to get the prize who has asked me to RE ROLL do not have this problem arises, you know? Because I apply for this two heavy smoke, and I am powerless.

This giveaway will need to be rolled back to the previous winner, since he used the key and the giveaway creator rerolled it by mistake. In the meantime you should either leave it in Awaiting Feedback status, or mark it Not Received.

Yes, tons of people blacklist you for giving thousands of AAA games. To minimize blacklists:
-give away AAA games

Wait what? I get blacklisted if I give away AAA games and not blacklisted? Whoa.

I once got blacklisted by a bunch of people for making too many giveaways at once. So yeah, go figure. :D

Yep. They flat-out blacklisted me because I had too many giveaways at once on the main page.

I remember on SGV1 there would be a leaderboard for the top contributors of that week. Thankfully it's removed so people won't get too jealous.

I once got blacklisted for going back to the giveaway page and thanking the person for the game that I had just won from them. They were even nice enough to tell so me in their reply. Returned the favor. Life goes on.

I only had one win in which the key was already used. I tried to contact the creator, but he didn't even log in since I commented on the GA, and that was over 2 months ago... So I did mark it as not received.

I hate even more people that already have the dlc, but don't have brains to post to the giveaway about it.
Freaking 13 re-rolls (of 6 giveaways) and of those 3 couldn't communicate and they were all above level 5...

DLC's have always been a PITA because of how the Steam API tracks them. I have a hard time remembering if I have one or not sometimes. Yes, they should probably check to see if they already own it before entering but the fault is not entirely theirs when the system is flawed. One person on here that I know personally didn't know that his The Walking Dead win from here also included the 400 Days DLC (not all do). SG said that he didn't own it so he was entering for it. He didn't even know that 400 Days wasn't just another WD game until I pointed out to him. Naming conventions not being standard doesn't help matters much either. Even SteamGifts Tools has a hard time with some DLCs. Many gifters here avoid giving away DLC because of these issues.

I understand that people are too lazy to check if they own it or not, but what I mean is, after they win a dlc giveaway, notice that they own it already, they just don't mark it as received. They don't reply to your messages or communicate in any way that they already have the dlc. You wait for a week and ask for a reroll and just hope that the key is still valid.

I guess if they are willing to risk suspension by breaking a rule then there's not much we can do about it with the current system other than ask for re-rolls. Unfortunately there are idiots everywhere and you just happened to find 13 of them yourself. Sorry about your luck and while I'm here thank you for all of your giveaways and I whitelisted you because of your generosity and the patience that you must have had while dealing with all of those re-rolls!

Yes! People need to stop giving pointless problems to support. In my whole time I've been on SG I've given two duplicate keys and the winners thankfully contacted me the same day and I then went to get another two keys for them. It was a silly mistake on my end but I fixed it

Never assume that it's some sort of "fake giveaway" or anything similar. Sometimes it's just a small issue that can be fixed :)

I have heard of issues where some of the "devs" that do the big multi-giveaways don't respond within the seven day period. I hope that this is taken into consideration when these reports are encountered.

mods, i have a question. a little different then previous threads, i have searched about duplicates.

let's say giveaway is a key. key is dupe. no one is in the wrong.
the gifter and giftee get in touch and make it right. but they do so with a different game.
does the giftee then mark the game recieved? if no, what needs to be done?

in other words, can someone gift 100$ bundle "ops its a dupe" then give bad rats and get credit for the first.
extreme example but i think you get the point.

thanks for clarification.

If you mark a giveaway "Received" but have not activated the game, you will be suspended. If the key is a dupe and the giveaway creator gives you a different key, you still cannot mark Received. Instead, you can give permission to the creator to have the giveaway deleted.

thank you for the reply.
Does the gift creator get no credit in the exchange then? The giveaway's game cannot be changed by a mod, nor a new entry be added for that alternate title? What is the creator's responsibility in this situation?
