Hi,

My mother have just updated her Windows 7 to Windows 10. The only problem she has is the Calendar gadget she used has dissapeared. It's important for her, because she has a lot of stuff like doctor appointments or whatever, and she has asked me if I can take it back. Is it possible? I've no idea.

Thanks!

You can't, gadgets are gone since Windows 8. Best you can do is revert to Windows 7 and pray that everything your mom added in the calendar is still here for you to copy them on a piece of paper and then, copy them in the Windows 10 calendar (or something else).

Start Menu > Settings > Update & security > Recovery. (or type recovery in the search field/cortana)

I would check if that reverts the "key upgrade" too and her Win7 is still activated. Might have worked but better be sure.

That's a normal option for Windows 10. You can revert it back to the previous OS for 1 month easily.

Bad idea updating the OS without a backup of that info! Goof luck reverting, hope the info will still be there. As a future suggestion, maybe she can use something that remains in the cloud, like Google Calendar.

Good luck!

Thanks! I've told her she must use Google Calendar (like a million times), but she ignored me because it's very familiar for her.

It was designed for Windows 8 but works on Windows 10 too. Install the same Calendar gadget, find the data files (they should be in a windows.old subfolder) and restore them.

Ops, a bit late, she's reverting the OS back to W7, but if it works, I'd recommend going to W10 again and try it. Thanks!

If Windows 7 works well in her computer it's not worth the upgrade to 10 unless she's a gamer.

It is free and is faster then windows 7 and uses less resources so there is more of reason then just being a "gamer"

Not worth it would be if she had to pay for it,but being free it is worth it but they already went back so i guess in the end it does not matter
