I generally enter giveaways for games on my wishlist, and dream of winning giveaways with entries in the thousands...
But then there are tons of interesting games i've first discovered through this site, and thanks to bundles and sales, i often win when there's less than 1,000 entries.

It's a numbers game...need to learn how to play it.
Also, when you give more, you level up and get access to giveaways with more limited participant lists. You can also get more involved in the community and join groups that have their own group-only giveaways. When you fully invest in what's going on around here, you'll start winning games regularly.

If you click on their profile it says 'Giveaways Entered 1,030' so even if you don't count the first win, it's still 1 in 250 which is still not bad at all and not even close to the 1 in 2000 what is said in the main post.

I'm guessing they meant giveaways they enter for tend to have 2000 entries?

Join groups! Your chances are much, much better that way. Lots of groups often have giveaways with fewer than 100 entries.

So you need luck. a lot of. Plus as mentioned before... groups are good... Also giving away. Cause the higher the group you are in, less people and bots... ๐

+1 In13 years i won 17 and 2 of them were fake. I am not complaining just sharing my stats. I only enter for games that i will actually play.

true :) I only enter for games I'm really willing to play and never enter GA with some really cheap games that I easily can buy on sale for less than $1 and I have a lot of those in my wishlist (my regional prices are very low ๐ )

I would say its the same for me as well, but dont check my list of winnning... my backlog is big ๐ฌ However in my defense I managed to build a new PC in december, so now I am trying to go though those games... ๐

ohm, I wanted to say, who the heck knows, but i checked the stats... not sure if its correct... seems a bit odd to me that I dont have any GAs entered before october of 2014... ๐ค But if thats correct... I wont my first GA after entering cca 130GAs... However the first ever game I won was from a smaller group with only 7 entries on it... ๐

haha 7 entries definitely help the odds (although I know there are a lot of GAs with less than 10 entries I didn't win)
My first win was against 583 other entries which was pretty lucky already. My second win had 1745 entries ๐คฃ
I'm pretty sure I didn't have another win with such low odd since and I was entering a loooot back then. I wish I could regift some of those early wins because I was very greedy and there are games I'll never finish in there.
Now I only try to win games I know I will play for sure.

Winning on SG requires collapse of wave function and thus a deep understanding of quantum mechanics. If you're less scientifically inclined you can try voodoo too.

I don't think it's too bad winning chance considering how many people are on here. People win games, so it's not impossible. .Of course, I'm really about giving, so I don't really think too much about winning. If I want a game bad enough, I just buy it. I more enjoy the thrill of a chance to win than the actual winning itself. :)

The important thing is, you've already started giving away games, and that's half of the fun. Also, yes, absolutely, 5 games in 1,5 months is a really decent result. Still, I'd recommend to only enter GAs for games you actually want to play; you'll win less, sure, but every win feels so much better when it's not just +1 for your library.

You need to enter more giveaways. You can download a mobile app so you can enter giveaways on the go. Search android or iOS on the forum.
