The chat's way better now though. Especially compared to the antiquated garbage it was before.
Now you can instantly send images, get embedded links, have chat commands and crap like that. You can still use the very basic stuff you could before. Nothing was really taken.
What am I missing here?

I absolutely agree. With the library I would like if they allowed to search for tags. We can search the shop for tags, but not our library. Seems silly to me.

Amen, brother. Preach! I've been cataloging my games into highly organized categories for a decade, but if they just allowed tags + user defined tags that would instantly give everyone essentially the same thing I have spent many hours and years doing solo.
It's so nice to sit down and say, "I have time for a strategy game, but I want something that will save my long-term progress in the form of RPG mechanics and unlocks, plus turn-based in case I have to get up to swap laundry, do the dishes, or get a phone call" and suddenly Slay the Spire, Darkest Dungeon, or Mutant Year Zero:Road to Eden are all recommended to me.
Even better - it can be a money-making opportunity to also list a suggested game you DON'T own at the bottom with a link to the store (or have a setting that allows Store suggestions to be made while searching in Library, some people would get annoyed by that).

Nice! Hopefully there will be some new organization features/changes. I'm tired of clicking 4 different buttons each time I want to add a single game to a folder. Even with only 1500 games, it's still too much work to take on with the current system.

That's like ordering everything in your house, if you do it now, it will be a big work, but then you'll only have one or two games to order every X days if you keep everything organized. First time is always a hassle, it's only ok after. As for the new library they made the category system worse.

Steam isnt doing much though for being a social platform.. I mean does somebody actually use that useless "Friend feed"? Or Reads or writes status updates? Valve also doesn't seem to care a lot about their social side, you report a profile for breaking social guidelines and nothing ever happens.

If it helps me to deal better with my unwieldy library I'll welcome it with open arms, just the other day it took me a couple of hours to decide what I wanted to play next after being done with a long game.

I used a similar site (judging by the google results I got there's a few out there) but I gave up after a handful of rolls not giving me anything I was in the mood to try out. I find more useful that site, of which I always forget the name, that lets you filter games on your library by a metric ton of tags and filters untill you got the list down from thousands to a couple dozen options. Didn't use it this time tho, just checked what racing games I had handy.

i hope one day valve add option for delete virtual items from inventory that can't be gifted,traded,scratched or removed in other ways for example Z1 (Gas Runner Hoodie etc.),PUBG (Bengal Blade - SCAR-L etc.),Artifact (event ticket etc.).

Only thing in there that seems actually useful is more detailed info about game updates so that you can see what changed without having to search out the patch notes yourself (assuming that the new library will actually do that).

it's missing the most important feature that's needed - the ability to nest categories
When you've got 100+ games, let alone 1000+, you need to be able to narrow the selection down quickly. I've got to have a separate category just for TellTale, not even Adventure Games, because that category has 49 entries in it! thanks for making each episode a separate game, a**holes

Sam & Max: Season One is 16 titles alone, Hector is 3, Back to the Future is 5. The 49 titles is farily realistic knowing these :|

this. I have most of the Telltale series. Back to the Future, Hector, Sam & Max, Strongbad, and Tales of Monkey Island each have separate chapters.
I'm only missing Walking Dead Seasons 3 & 4, Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman 2, Minecrack, and Wallace & Grommit.
But that's just one example. Dead Rising is 5 entries, Fallout is 5 entries, GTA is 7 entries, 7 Leisure Suit Larries, 8 Resident Evils, 7 Sid Meier's Civilization (and that's after hiding 3 duplicates for IV), Total War I've got 11, and can you imagine what it'd be like if I was into the Lego games or CoD? missing GTA V, TW Warhammer II, Britannica, Three Kingdoms, RE2 and RE7
But if each series gets its own category, I've still got way too many categories. The list is unmanageable

I've seen that before. I don't find it all that useful as the sorting features are limited to tags attached to steam, but hey, adding any sorting features to steam is at least a marginal improvement.
Thing is, everybody sorts their games in different ways. The more tools we are given ourselves, the better. Hiding games I'll never play is nice. Sorting into categories is ok, but without subcategories it's only a half-answer.
Ideally, I'd be able to
1) sort games into different categories and subcategories (and for some games to appear in multiple categories) this is already possible, except for sub-categories
2) ability to change the names of games just standardizing naming conventions for games would already go a long way; removing trademark symbols and the like is a nice plus, etc.
3) custom tags everyone has their own opinion of games; my idea of open-world games doesn't necessarily correspond to what everyone else thinks as open-world
4) mark gameplay status particularly, how interested am I? is this a game I've never started? played but didn't think too highly of it? loved it in small doses? played non-stop to the end? Game I want to finish one day? Game I want to get all the achievements? etc. etc.
5) multiple gaming ques think of netflix's queue. Allow me to rank which games I want to play next. Even one such queue would be a good start, but I'd prefer several, as I usually play several games at a time. One queue for the shooters I want to play, a different queue for the strategy games I want to play, another queue for puzzle games.
Bonus if the next game in the queue automatically downloads when I delete the previous one, but I understand why this is an impossible request. Which brings me to:
6) allocate a set amount of HD space for Steam, and manage a download list accordingly. When the space is used up, stop downloading. But, when I delete a game, automatically start downloading again until I'm out of space.

The thing I really like about Lorenzo's is being able to select or exclude multiple tags (multiplayer, coop, fps, horror etc) and being able to narrow down the selection that way.
I agree that custom tags are a must. Some of the features you mentioned (gameplay status, gaming queues) would be unnecessary with a sufficiently featured tagging system. I also can't believe that subcategories still aren't a thing.

Eh, I'll say when I see it. I'm happy with improvements, but I can't say that I know that this will be an improvement necessarily. Seems like a lot of social news-y clutter. But who knows.
I just want tools to help me figure out what games to play. So sorting by tags, picking random games (with added options, like unplayed, not 100%d and so on), ordering games through different values like release dates and user reviews.
Steam's library is so old that it basically lacks any functionality. "Yay, you can search!".

I use a database software for managing my collection (Collectorz) , so I don't require much in terms of functionality, but I'd welcome any visual improvements, judging by the screenshots, the poster format is certainly a nice upgrade from banners.

My only problem with the poster format that there is a lot of games that are abandoned, the devs went bankrupt etc. So half of the games wont update to the new system making it look out of place.

All I hope is that Steam makes option in it so we can decide what to see and what not to see, but knowing Steam I doubt it will be added.

I just hope in a search option by genres and/or in a simplified view. I'm fine with lots of design and layouts, but usefulness at a few thousand items is very important for me. Meanwhile average library size is 200ish if I remember well, so I can only hope that optimalization will go well for us too.
