A nice game is Duck Game.
Other than that one, the Lego videogames are fun to play, especially if you like the films

Any Dark Souls game, Dead Cells, Salt & Sanctuary, and RUINER come to mind first (someone else mentioned the LEGO games, which are also best with a controller).

Is RUINER significantly better with controller?

Not significantly, no. I'd have to say this is one of the few games I've played where you are on pretty much even ground whichever you choose. I ended up going with the KB/Mouse in the end, but the controller was quite comfortable as well.

+1 for Dark Souls, it is THE best game ever, and so much more enjoyable with a controller.

I have one and I really can't get used to it other than for some platformers, most racers, and all Hyperdimension games. Anything else, kb+m for me. I guess that's the trouble when you've used kb+m all your life.

Any 3rd person action game, beat-em-up, platformer, JRPG, twin-stick shooter, arcade racer, etc. Games like the Bastion, the Batman Arkham series, Bayonetta, Inside, Nier: Automata, Nex Machina, and Burnout Paradise to name a few.

All the games from Supergiant Games and the Lego games. Skyrim and fallout work pretty good with a controller.

I'd add Oceanhorn to the pile as well - really forgiving, nice game that doesn't punish you too hard if you're learning into a controller. Same for LEGO games.

My approach is that if it's not an FPS or something else better suited for a mouse like a point & click or similar I'll play with a controller if given the option, except for fighting games, those I play with keyboard only.

It's doable with keyboard and mouse (I did it, yay!), but all game that available at console or 3d game is suitable with exception for fps (like comment above).

Some game I play last year with controller and kam:

  • Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons, player control 2 main character in same time with left and right analog stick (I did it with kam XD)
  • 3D platformer/action/adventure: Enslaved, Abzu
  • Musou game
  • RPG/Action RPG game like: ys, trails, ff 9, grandia, neptunia
  • Platformer: I finished some comfortably with kam, like vvvvv, ori, dust. With controller: guacamelee
