It says "32-bit software" on teh disc. Am I suppose to buy a new copy of Windows? Not worth it then :/.

I would guess so. It's Micro$oft.

Well then I wasted my money by buying a PC with Pre-installed Windows.

Take it back and say you wanted a 64bit edition of Windows? If they didn't expressly say on the packaging/description/whatever, then you can complain :)

I don't think I can since it was 2 years ago and it clearly said "32-bit" on the box, but then I didn't think it meant much.

It's funny, because before SteamOS linux was "for everything, but almost no games". :D

You don't need to upgrade. Windows 7 keys are good for both 32bit and 64bit versions. Just download and burn a copy of windows and use your key for a 64bit version. Just make sure its the same. Like home premium for home premium. :)

Maybe try to find a someone who is actuall a student and their school is a part of MSDNAA program? (eventually maybe you are going to school) You can ask that person about downloading a ISO of 64 bit version of your Windows or rent his disc, it's a full original image of installation discs straight from Microsoft page (not modificiatied by pirates, you can check the MD5 sums to make 100% sure).

I think that MSDNAA does not support Windows anymore :(

You just need a x64 disk from a friend/trusted site on the internet. The keys activate both, the x64 and the x32 versions. Here a link to a trusted German site, in the table you find download links for Win7 ISOs
