Which franchise do you like better?
Just about to start Morrowind for the first time (any TES game for that matter), but I'm pretty sure it will not be anything special compared to Fallout. Considering the direction BGS took in Fallout 3 and 4, i don't think I'll like the game design in TES too much.
But overall - Fallout franchise has first 2 games and New Vegas, so it wins for me.

Depends on which titles you mean. Fallout 4 is the worst part imo - Too much mainstream-ego shooter, less fallout, story and deeper world. So Titles expect F4 : Clear win for Fallout. Whole series so far: TES.

As I stated in the initial post, I don't care about WHICH game in each franchise for this topic. Just which franchise you like better.

Thats unfair cause Fallout 4 throws a bad light on the series.. But I only played Skyrim so from TES so I went with Fallout anyway.

This is a topic over the franchises themselves, NOT the individual games.
not many ppl played more than two-three games from each franchise.
I don't like Skyrim but i like Oblivion.
I will never buy Fallout 4, but i like old Fallouts and New Vegas.

I like Elder Scrolls better because I find the wasteland spooky and sad and I hate it when I get randomly irradiated. I prefer shooting at things rather than fencing though, so for the combat part I prefer Fallout.
Anyhow, both are great IMO

Wow, I was sure Fallout would win by a large margin, considering all the hate towards TES games (especially Skyrim) compared to Fallout.
Personally, I'm a TES kind of person. Fallout (New Vegas at least) is way too tedious in terms of exploration - I feel like you can go wandering the wasteland for ages before finding anything even remotely interesting. Too much walking, too slow traveling. A shame, because the setting and lore feels nice. The Elder Scrolls games tend to be a bit more diversified in its surrounding I think - plus the overall feel/look of thing is much easier to bear than the endless wastelands of Fallout games. Regarding gameplay, it really depends on what you like. I don't really enjoy complex RPG elements, so Skyrim is fun for me but I know it turns off many people. Generally speaking, Bethesda games have pretty crappy gameplay elements to be honest, especially in the combat side of things, so any games by Bethesda will feel icky compared to other.

I think I started a game, but dropped it fast. It hasn't aged very well and felt... clunky? I liked Oblivion, though.

That was the only thing that bugged me about New Vegas without the "A World of Pain" mod, lots of empty space. I mean it makes sense because it's a giant freaking desert, but it still made getting from one place to another tedious and gave very little incentive to walk anywhere over using fast travel.
After installing AWOP though, new locations everywhere.

Bethesda
The first two Fallouts are Interplay/Black Isle, and New Vegas is Obsidian, so Fallout has more variety of design approach than the exclusively Bethesda-produced Elder Scrolls series.
especially Skyrim
Skyrim got slammed for its bugs and Bethesda trying to crassly monetize it, but it wasn't my impression that it got near the criticism Oblivion or the (very divisive) first two games got.

I am aware of NV being a non-Bethesda game (hence why NV has decent gameplay mechanics). Not sure about FO3 since I haven't played it, though.

They are actually treated as slaves, rapers, thiefs and other oathbrakers and traitors :D
Being a food as actually not that bad tbh
Especially if you are a basic cat and have no idea what is happening around you :D
But being a half cat half human (and being everage intelegent person) and being punished (beheading/20 years in a prison/etc) for the crime you did not commite (you just was accused because of your race) is not a good option xD

I like both, but I prefer sci-fi over fantasy genres, so I choose Fallout.

I started out with The Elder Scrolls Morrowind. From there on, I started with TES Oblivion and eventually Fallout 3 and TES Skyrim. Fallout 4 was the last game I got and having played all, I cannot give a final verdict because I really like the setting of all games. The only thing that stands out is Morrowind because there was no map indicator. I really liked the 'search and find' system (for example: "Northwest there is a cave, find it and retrieve the item) along with a map only to show where you are in the world.

With me the exact same thing, and I loved it xD I can't remember if I found anything special, however the game was rewarding for me in general :) I was fond of that assassin's armor! I really hope such a TES game will come again, without any help.

I recently got Elder Scrolls Online. It has so much lore and every quest feels different than the last because of it's characters.

Close, because the exploration and general world building in TES is definitely better, but I far prefer the combat in Fallout, and find the storytelling much more engaging.

Yet another in a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long Smacks self to get off the broken record line of annoyingly nosy question I like to ask.
Which franchise do you like better, Elder Scrolls or Fallout?
I don't care which game per franchise you like best, IE- New Vegas or Skyrim. This is a topic over the franchises themselves, NOT the individual games.
