I freaking loved the HB originals i got and wanted to play the ones ive missed. This is GENIUS from then- one extra candy to sweeten the monthly jar. For someone who have been liking montlhy's already (even with repeats) this is borderline too much/a steal for me...
...but im a sucker for good indies (no fake, cashgrab or too amateurish 'games') and i care more about having legitimate acess to then then cards/owning then on steam so...spot on XD

Just holding on the current monthly because of summer sale so im unsure if i will renew this one- but i will be resuming soon anyway.

I lord, thye REALLY want me to pay for a humble monthly. I'd been lighting candles every night in hope they would put the Humble Originals somewhere else than in these monthly bundles. It's very good, but honestly, i'd prefer paying for those games ^^

That's almost worth a monthly supscription just to get those games. Because as long as I have dl them I can still play them even if I stop subscribing.

Does it mean they will eventually add a Steam key?
Not like it's really needed when I already can play it, but would be nice.

No, the Trove is a shared archive of games, not an individual benefit. The whole point is that you become or remain a Monthly subscriber in order to access it.

Huh, The End is Nigh just came out three months ago. It's a bit odd they'd give it away in a bundle-ish thing so soon... I guess they figure putting it there isn't likely to reduce its value the way a Steam key would.

Humble Bundle is allowing people who don't have the monthly to get these 6 HB originals for free till February 2nd. It's a promotion. That's what the end date is for. To my knowledge these are not leaving the Trove.

Apparently others knew this, but I didn't.
When you pause your subscription, you lose access to the Trove, and the 10% discount immediately. Even if the next month doesn't bill for another three weeks...

Humble Support confirmed this is how it's currently supposed to work. :(

Not to sound like a cynical dick or anything, but I'm fairly certain it's because the longer you leave it, the less likely you are to cancel.

Or more accurately, the more likely you are to miscalculate exactly when they take the next months money out, and you're then locked in for the next month.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Oh, I'd totally believe that.
Especially since I could swear that another time when I cancelled, not paused, my discount lasted until the next billing date.
But it definitely doesn't work like that now.

So let me get this straight. I pay 12 bucks, I get Civ VI plus some DLC plus other games/DLC and I get full access to all these games which I can download and save on a HD/DVD/Cloud to play whenever I want in the future? That's a lot of games.

the downside is humble monthly has really been pushing ftp tier games, like that tomb raider base game that didn't come with the 20th anniversary omake, or all those mmo type things

Majority of games in the first row i already have on Steam, for the second row, without Steam integration, playing those games becomes kinda pointless.
