I see two kinds of carnivorous plants there. Some use hinging leaves that snap together trapping the fly while others use a funnel with liquid where the flies get attracted by the scent and get trapped in the liquid at the bottom of that funnel.

I assume by "NC" you mean "North Carolina." I haven't been down that way in a very long time. I enjoyed my visit the last time I was there, however.

NC Day 8
Last day in NC. 4-hour drive back from Emerald Isle to Durham. We stopped at Skylight Inn BBQ for lunch. BBQ sandwich - the best bbq I've had before. Such good smokey flavor, and the extra crunchy pork skin mixed in makes a really good textural difference. I bought a pint for home. Too bad it's not so good when it's not fresh.
The goal for that day was to visit the Duke Lemur Center and Duke Gardens. Lemur! Lemur! Lizard!. The lizard was very friendly, it didn't run away at all and even let us pet it o.o.
Gardens blooming. Carnivorous plants not blooming
Afternoon snack at Cookout - BLT and cheese fries
And dinner at a Chinese buffet.
