Seriously? There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

The only thing I did was download that stupid keygen, but couldn' execute it cos' it was asking for some missing DLLs. I thought that wouldnt do anything to my acc, but it fucked up everything. I don't know what I'm gonna do if I can't get it back =(
Comment has been collapsed.
Jeez I know, but hell, I thought that was just another exploited key.

And that makes you more intelligent or less immoral somehow? points and laughs at your misery

Back when it was February my account got hacked because I entered my account/password into a website which looked like steam. I thought my account (and my preordered copy of Portal 2) was doomed.
Fortunately steam support got me my account back.

Yeah, but that's not exactly like "Oh, I'm going to download a keygen so I can get a copy of Dead Island because I'm too cheap to pay the developers hurr hurr. Whut's this? I get haxxed?! NUUUU!! Steam Support HALP ME!"
Comment has been collapsed.
Even if I had the 50 € they ask for, I wouldn't buy it either. I refuse to pay high prices for digital versions of games, it's a steal and it's just retarded.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, if it helps any, you are the first person I've ever wished did not get their Steam account unhacked. I genuinely hope you lose your $449.72 worth of games. You are an idiot and a pirate (and a worthless one at that) and I have no sympathy for you at all.
Comment has been collapsed.
Now I have to say sorry for refusing to buy expensive digital version games? I find it unfair, it's just my opinion. If you want to discuss this, open a new thread. And no, I'm not a pirate. Every game you see there I bought it with my own money, 100% legit.

Except the Dead Island you tried to steal. I'm glad the law doesn't take your side. "Your Honour, I'm sorry. I only stole that car because it was too expensive!" "Oh, shut up and get your arse in that jail cell."
Comment has been collapsed.
I'd like to see you if you get hacked. I bet you wouldn't be so rude mr bad boy.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, I've been hacked before. It just wasn't because I was fucking dumb enough to break the law.
Comment has been collapsed.
You know what? I will just ignore you. You feel so rude laughing at other people disgraces? Fine, I won't reply to you anymore.
Just look at other people response, they are kind, not as stupid as you and all the fuckers who feel happy laughing at me and others
Comment has been collapsed.
You can refuse to buy expensive games all you want. Take me, for example: every single day, I do not buy Dead Island. Tomorrow, I plan on not buying it again.
Comment has been collapsed.
He is allowed i hope the same thing to you.
You entered your account details in a site that looks like steam before and got hacked.
Now you run a program which will generate y ou free keys for games you dont own.
Why they even bother getting your account back????
You will loose it again with a keygen you will install yourselve.
Comment has been collapsed.
keygens asking for acc/pass? Create a new account to test.
Keygens generating keys for software installation? Go for it.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you're going to do that at least suggest something useful
1) Don't download shady crap from the internet
2) If you HAVE to because of whatever do the following
a) Install VirtualBox
b) Download said shady stuff only to a VirtualBox computers
c) Test and then revert snapshot or delete the virtual box computer once finished
Sequestration is key. But again you can avoid all that by following rule #1
Comment has been collapsed.
Ofc, I always buy during sales. But if this fucking russian buys anything he could keep it too, that's what is worrying me
Comment has been collapsed.
ok you will get it then and do what saoru said =)
You will eventually get it back but do a few things
1) FORMAT YOUR COMPUTER. You're screwed at this point start over. God knows what other viruses you have.
2) Change your email password. Only do this after you've formatted the comptuer, or do this from another known computer.
3) Make sure you email password is secure and not used anywhere else on the internet
4) Enable SteamGuard
5) Make sure your Steam password is secure and not used anywhere else on the internet

Just as easy. Most built in password managers have absolutely no encryption, password protection etc.
I only use the password managers for websites I don't care about. For anything that's actually 'important' I simply type them in manually.
If you want securtiy for your password manager, there are other 3rd party tools that can assist you.

Strange thing is that neither my antivirus (Microsoft Security Essentials) and Spybot didn't find anything, and I don't know how this fucker could hack me, cause I always autologged into Steam and never put my pass trying to login from a browser. Hell, they sure got it by trying to login to this page =S

Bad thing is that I can't format my pc, since I have no windows disc. Is the legit version I have installed since I bought my pc
Comment has been collapsed.
I assume it's a dell or some other company. They should have then given you a 'recovery dvd of some kind'. Or I know on Dell's they preload it with a recovery partition which contains a ghost copy of the computer shipped from the factory. You basically load the recovery partition and it does a 'reformat' for you.
Check your vendor to see what recovery options you might have.

Acer M3641, I'm gonna check what discs I have, I think I saw some recovery disc
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't need Steam to hack your account. I just need your email. Once I get that I initiate the password recovery option which uses your email as an authentication. Once I get the password via email, I grab it, log in, change the password, and change the email. Presto. Instant Steam hijack.

I find it funny that his account is playing CS:S right now - Happy VAC2 Ban ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
Valve Anti Cheat in it's second version. If you get banned for cheating in CS:S you will never be able to play on a secured server ever again.
VAC-Bans will not be reversed, even if your account was hacked.

Wait, why are you apologising for someone knowingly trying to pirate?
Comment has been collapsed.
Precisely no one forced him to download a key gen
Comment has been collapsed.
The download links were everywhere around the site, not just the forum. They hijacked every first comment on each giveaway. I was hoping we responded fast enough to make sure no one clicked the links. Fortunately, the spammers didn't know how to make their links clickable.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, they spammed, but it was also made obvious exactly what they were. Apologise to the ones who downloaded without knowing due to not understanding the language well enough. This guy even admits he downloaded a key generator for the game solely because he doesn't want to cough up the dough. That's piracy and that's something you shouldn't apologise about, but something you should take a firm stance on and ban him (or at least give a very stern warning).
Comment has been collapsed.
He also had to copy and paste the link directly into his browser because the spammers didn't make the links clickable. We do not accept responsibility for the damage done, as you are correct, they made it very clear what they were spamming.
There is a chance he could lose his account as a result, and for that, I am sorry.
Comment has been collapsed.
Why would anyone care you got hacked by trying to get pirated stuff? Seriously I laugh at your idiocy, and I honestly do not feel bad for what so ever.
I know this sounds pretty rude, but seriously, you should know better by know, and as an adult (I am assuming you are an adult) you should have better common sense to realize that keygens are always 99 percent fucked.
Comment has been collapsed.
No need to be rude pals, just sharing my awful experience. And no, i'm not a teenager, I'm 20, next week it's my b-day
Comment has been collapsed.
Good, then you're old enough to get a job, stop being a layabout and pay for the shit you want. I get all of £20 a week to spend on myself in a job that is literally 24/7. You see my Steam list? Every single one is bought and paid for myself. I have plenty of gifts given too. I also have at least 50 Xbox games, almost every single one a Collector's Edition (Skyrim, Gears of War, Halo: Reach, The Old Repubic to name some of the most expensive things I have). A 9-5 job at McDonald's pays a hell of a lot more daily than I get in a week. Go get employed and then buy stuff legally, you arrogant, self-imporant moron.
Comment has been collapsed.
Cool story bro, no one gives a shit about your life. I pay my own games too nigger, nobody gifts me anything, just money I earn and money I save.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, it is on. I don't even care that I'm whiter than a sheet. It. Is. On.
Comment has been collapsed.
Will do. Sorry, I just really don't have sympathy for him. He was knowingly pirating and expected people to feel sorry for him, and I just can't stand that. I'm taking a break from the computer for now, letting some steam off. I'll be back soon and much more reasonable, I promise.

Okay, I don't know how the hell I'm still logged here, but the thing is I got hacked after downloading a keygen for Dead Island. Yea, stupid me, I'm retarded. I got hacked by a fucking russian or some shit like that. I already contacted Steam Support, hope I can get my acc back.
