Civilization V

I liked Mafia 1 back in the days so I chose Mafia 2 (and because I just bought the civ5 gold on sale).

Mafia 2 starts good with the short WW2 chapter BUT after that when you are back in america there are very long dialog scenes and very very long boring car rides which kinda threw me off a bit and I usally don't play long and resume the next day.

Wehen it comes to civ5 and you like it...the hours fly by so that you have to put a clock next to you or set a timer in order to not miss appointments or the time you wanted to go to bed ;)

Mafia 2 is decent for a run-through or maybe two. Civilization 5 is really replayable.

I would say Civilization V, if you are going to buy addons.

Definitely Civ 5, honestly, Mafia 2 is one of the most disappointing games I've ever played.

Civ V I think is way better, but I already had it so I chose Mafia II. I've logged tons of hours in Civ V and even before I got any of the DLC, it was great.

civ v without it's addons is only half the fun

I'd go for Civ V. I'm currently playing Mafia and so far the missions are okay, but the rest it's just a bit like a driving simulator. And Civ V just offers more than Mafia.

Civ V for the multiplayer. For me they are basically tied, but Civ V has the added play with your friends (and probably online).

Mafia 2

I would go for Mafia 2, I found Civ V got boring, even in multiplayer.
